Deck Description

It's time for another Duel Deck, this time, Elves have to face the Undead! This match-up is one I've wanted to see for a while, and now, we all get to see the epic showdown! Will the Elves survive the hordes of the dead, or will the corpses add more to their piles? It's a showdown for the history books, and it's anyone's game!

Plot:

The city's final surviving resident hides within these walls. Bodies fill the streets, and the stench of death fills the air. They came out of nowhere seemingly. The living dead, roaming the world again. Now, after a single night, the city lies in silence, almost every resident dead. Corpses walk the streets, seeking their final meal. As the man holds his sword in the alley, fear grips his very soul. He has seen much death in one night, far too much for one man. Families, neighbors, keepers of the law, criminals, everyone died right before his eyes. Now, the man jumps at every noise, peeks behind every corner, and prays that the horde of flesh does not find him. He checks all directions and dashes for the next building, quiet as a mouse. He, opens the door to the butcher's shop, desperate for supplies. He quickly checks the store for unspoiled food, and in his rush, a jar falls. Terror engulfs him as he scans the area for any signs of movement. After a moment, nothing awakens nearby and he breathes a sigh of relief. As he turns and opens a door, he finds himself face to face with a large zombie, an evil gleam in it's eyes. As the man screams, glass shatters as the dead swarm the store, finishing off the last living being in the city.

As the dead wander out of the city, a scent of cooking meat fills the nostrils of the walking dead. The horde turns their attention toward the scent, and follow it into the woods. As they follow the delicious smell, the don't even notice more corpses rising from the ground to join the horde. The mass of dead bodies just stumble towards the source of the scent. As they finally find the village in the woods, an elven woman sets eyes upon the horde and screams in fear. The dead have arrived in the elves' woods, and now they will add elven corpses to their ranks.....

How to Play

Zombies don't think, they just overwhelm everything. Your deck plan is simple: Put out the horde of zombies that lurk in your deck and eat the elves alive. With your deck, your hand fuels your ability to produce more corpses, and when you discard your zombies, they come back with a vengeance. The idea is to play either Necromancer's Stockpile or Zombie Infestation and discard your unearth and madness cards to completely eliminate the elves. Grave Scrabbler is perfect discard food, with a 1 and black mana cost to pull a zombie put to your hand and get a 2/2 zombie to boot, while cards like Dregscape zombie can return with unearth to take a chunk out of the elves. After you assemble a horde, you can play Endless Ranks of the Dead to keep adding more Zombies to your field putting an either further gap between the elves and victory. As the game progress, your graveyard should be plenty full by the time Unbreathing Horde finds it's way to your hand. With this card, it gets stronger for every zombie on the field and in the grave, and when it should take damage....it just drops a body to keep the horde alive. With this powerful zombie horde to lead the way, you should have no problem pushing through the elves final defense and into their chest cavities to eat their hearts.
