During this war, Isamaru and Konda faced a powerful demon spirit named Kyoki. This demon spirit had tormented the weak and destroyed the minds of many men and women, and Konda vowed to end Sanity's Eclipse if it was the last thing he did. So, Konda and Isamaru ventured forth to defeat this evil entity. They gathered a small group of humans skilled in spirit demon slaying and purification, then traveled to Kyoki's haunting grounds. During the battle, Konda fell to Kyoki. Isamaru, his Hound, became enraged and engaged Kyoki in combat to the death, in which he would force Kyoki to retreat. As Kyoki retreated, the remaining humans used a spell to corner Kyoki and eventually trap him inside of an amulet. The humans then found a powerful Soratami named Tamiyo and gave her the amulet and Isamaru to ensure that never again would Kyoki be free to torment the realm. Tamiyo turned out to be a planeswalker, and traveled the planes with Isamaru, who never left her side to guard the amulet so the evil spirit would never be freed. On these travels, Isamaru grew older, and eventually could not keep traveling with Tamiyo. So, she traveled to Innistrad to study and left Isamaru with a Fiend Hunter named Halben. Unfortunately, the amulet was lost along the way, and Tamiyo left the responsibility to Isamaru to recover the amulet. Halben and Isamaru searched all over Innistrad in a desperate search of the amulet, only to hear rumor of wicked spirits haunted the woods near Thraben. Halben and Isamaru gathered a band of humans and journeyed to the woods to face this threat. Litle did they realize that history would repeat itself as once again Isamaru and his human allies would face Kyoki, but this time Kyoki was stronger than ever as several other spirits had followed him from Kamigawa by haunting the amulet. Can Isamaru exorcise these spirits and defeat Kyoki once and for all, or will Kyoki return to his dark reign of terror in Innistrad? Not even Avacyn might be able to stop Kyoki, it's up to you to end this nightmare before it begins!!!
Isamaru and his human allies are veterans when it comes to fighting off evil. Even if this evil comes from the other side of the afterlife, they fight bravely. Your biggest advantage of Kyoki's spirits is the element of speed. All of your humans and spells are cheaper, giving you the ability to wipe him out quickly. Kyoki's deck intends on using weak spirits to stall so he can bring them back later to try and overwhelm you, but he can't do that if overwhelmed early game. So, from turn one, you have to keep an aggressive pace. Most of your humans are cheap and come with great abilities, so try to keep playing as many as you can early game to keep the spirits on the defensive. Kyoki can supposedly bring his spirits back from death, but you came prepared for such trickery. Purify the Grave exiles cards from the grave and out of Kyoki's reach, and Thraben Heretic can do the same thing, but every turn with just a tap!Your other spells are purely to help keep your offense moving. Gather the Townsfolk and Thatcher Revolt add to your band of humans, while cards like Banners Raised increase your human's strength to overpower the spirits. If Kyoki does get going, however, you have one trump card that acts as a powerful finisher: Divine Deflection. it prevents damage and throws it right back at a creature or player, which can save you from a powerful wave of his creatures and potentially lay Kyoki to rest once and for all. However, all of these spells and humans are useless if you let Kyoki build any kind of offense, so keep your assault up every turn, make every swing count, and eventually Kyoki will never be able to harm humanity again!
