This is a simple mono blue control deck. You simply counter whatever the enemy throws at you only casting spells if you can keep mana up for counters. Sounds fun?
Playing this deck requires patience, you don't win right away. You simply build up your manabase slowly while countering any threats posed to you. Don't play any card unless you have mana up for counterspells next turn. We wouldn't want them to get in the game now would we?The deck is based on the idea around card advantage and is how it should be played. While sea gate oracle is not a fast clock by himself, once you have stabilised your position and get a Gryff Vanguard out, you can start tasting victory. Don't get impatient and play it unless you can protect it though. Also, always use a Rune Snag over any other counterspell if you can, simply because they get better the more they have been used. Your priority should be: Rune Snag > Mana Leak > Exclude > Contradict > Counterspell. Counterspell is your all-star, since it is cheapest to cast and is always a hard counter. Remember if you can use Impulse on their end step, do it, it is much better than doing it on your own turn.
