Deck Description

This deck may seem rather weak at first glance, but the usage of Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker makes it stronger. Devouring Greed is used a a game finisher and Plagued Rusalka is used as a long run spot removal as all sacrificed creatures return to your field after the turn is over thanks to Shirei.

Thief of Hope is another important card in the deck as every time you play a card it will hurt your opponent. Also if it is somehow killed it can return nearly any of the spirits killed before Shirei hit the field to you hand and it is possible to get it back simply by sacrificing a Moonlit Strider.

Sacrificing Moonlit Strider every turn should be done if there is any cards in your graveyard or if playing against a deck with spot removal it acts as Shirei's bodyguard.

Deck discussion for Echoes From the Past

I would suggest maybe taking out one of the Silent-Chant Zubera's and putting in another Shirei because it's pretty essential to your deck but besides that, good job, your deck looks like a force to be reckoned with. If you could, come take a look at my deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=37560
