The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Deck Description

Leyline of Singularity is the key, although if I don't have it out the deck can still run effectively.

Running playsets of permanents seems crazy in a singularity deck right? Wrong I run a playset of all my creatures because I need to make sure I draw them, and mimic vat assures that they wont be gone for long if I play a second creature.

Think about it in this way, Have out leyline of singularity, blood artist, and mimic vat. Play any of my hunted creatures, I get a formidable creature and the creatures that it gives my opponent are instantly destroyed because of the legend rule. The creatures destroyed set off blood artist ability, I play a second of the hunted creatures do the same thing but also destroy my own two creatures of the same type which imprints it on mimic vat and i tap 3 to put out another one and start it again or start attacking.

Suggestions welcomed, I don't actually own this deck, just decided to see if a deck like this would be worth constructing, seems great to me =]

Deck discussion for Modern Singularity

This is a great use for the Leyline. You might want to add a few more things with death triggers but other than that this is great.

Thank you =] I might try to construct this deck sometime when I get the extra money to buy the things I need. And any suggestions of what other death triggers I could add?

Butcher of Malakir could provide you with a way to use those extra Hunted creatures. And Reaper from the Abyss would be a great addition to this deck.

hmmm interesting, I really like butcher of makakir, but his cmc is a hefty 7, that's pretty pricey in my eyes for what his ability is. Reaper from the Abyss is something I will put some consideration into tho. He only cost 6, and for what he is that's not too bad and that would make from some real carnage against my opponents creatures.... My only concern is, with this deck I'm going to assume that my opponent may not have many creatures out, or out very long at least, with how his ability is, wouldnt I have to destroy one of my own creatures if theres none on my opponents side? Which as long as I have mimic vat out I wont care, but that's the concern I have for that creature. I'm assuming with echoing truth, echoing decay, and phantasmal image that I can control what My opponent has out pretty well.

Scavenger Drake would be another good idea.

WOW! Haven't seen this deck in this form. Looks very nice now. I especially love the singularity/orchard aspect, which will probably annoy your opponents a lot. I guess that each time they attack with the 1/1 you just tap for mana, or is that a rare event?

Thanks :) and ya i could just tap to kill it, but also taking one damage isnt too big a deal. When this deck goes off they will be taking huge damage from me and i wont even have to attack

Once the 2014 rule changes are made, you are going to need to find a replacement for Phantasmal Image.

Yea unfortunately, btw i think thats a horrible idea to change that rule, they are trying to make the game beginner friendly. Stupid rule

It is annoying. They should have just made it so copies of legendary creatures were not legendary. It makes sense that Niv-Mizzet can have an Evil Twin or that you could clone Avacyn, but it doesn't make sense that you and your opponent can have the same things at the same time.

I agree, that is a horrible call on their part, in my opinion its actually dumbing the game down. They need to get away from that territory that are in

Nah, the "beginner friendly" has always been their excuse to mess and toy with stuff that shouldn't be touched. (If it ain't broken, don't fix it! But you know that!). There is probably a rules department that has to change a certain number of rules each year, just to show that they need a salary, and they are probably in liege with some judges. If they don't change rules, they become obsolete and fired, so guess what, we just have to eatwhatever they feed us :( Perhaps magicplayers the world over should unite, and make sure that stuff like this doesn't happen. There is some weight to shove around after all, since the community managed to put a ban on mental misstep. UNITE!!!

Chewy, I know you like mill!

two mill-decks have won nice places in modern, meaning mill is now doable!
I've put the exact designs on my own "page", so go there and have a look if you wan't to try them out...

So do you have any new ideas on how this can work with the legend rule changes? I've got a deck that, while it doesn't use Leyline of Singularity, works in a similar way to this here http://www.mtgvault.com/soulofmirrodin/decks/574393/

Well I can still use this deck, but instead of the hunted creatures making the opponent sacrifice all the creatures i give them it will just leave them with one, not quite as effective but it still works, I can probably find a better replacement for phantasmal image tho now since the legend rule screwed that strategy haha

You could put in some specialised removal. For example, the horror makes green tokens, and you play black, so you could play the black removal card that lets you draw a card if the creature removed is black. Stuff like that to exploit that you know what they get.

Hey, a friend once told me "Wicked is always right" He also added "At least once a day" so I guess you got lucky :D

Got 9 points with mill in modern, so will soon post the design.
Also got 9 points with an UG-merfolk deck, which I will also post, but it's legacy...

Funny thing, I'm busy putting a deck together that's similar to this, except I'm using Illness in the Ranks instead of the Leyline, allowing me to play more than 1 Hunted Phantasm out at a time :p

Hmm! Illness in the ranks allows for heavier use of the forbdiden orchard

I'm trying to decide if I should go with a 3rd colour (green or white) to make use of Mercy Killing :p

Also, the tokens you grant the opponent will cause Bloodseeker to trigger :)

1

That's a great idea! Bloodseeker, and blood artist out, play one hunted phantasm and that's 10 damage, brilliant idea =p especially since the legend rule makes my deck less effective now. Send me the link when you construct it, I wanna check it out

It mite be a while until I have the deck up and running, but in the mean time, here's my other deck based on purposely giving creatures to the opponent:
