Deck Description

Life gain is often derrided and rightfully so; decks that try not to lose usually end up losing to decks that are trying to win. However, in this instance, life gain becomes a path to victory.

How to Play

Gaining life will make most of your permanents stronger ala Serra Ascendant and Chalice of Life. Well of Lost Dreams gets absolutely absurd as the game goes on, allowing you to dig deep for answers to threats while the Elixers are most valuable as a way to restock your deck to get back cards you already played or discarded because of huge Chalice draws.

Storm Herd allows you to get a ton of creatures into play, allowing you to get around masses of blockers, Story Circles, or other problems late in the game. Temple Acolyte brings a nice life gain early in the game, since you want to hit 30 life as quickly as you can and stay there, if possible. They are also a respectible 1/3 body for 2, so they can mug up the ground early on. Pulse of the Fields can stave off early attacks until you stablize.

Ever thought about wall of reverence? You could potentially double your life every turn if you have Serra Avatar out on the battlefield.

If you have a chance, check out my newest deck and let me know what you think.

Not a half bad idea. I'll look into that.

I like life gain, and this is one sick deck. Celestial Mantle would look so good in this :)

Might want to consider switching out battle grace angel for victory's herald. It is one more mana but will allow you to give ALL of your creatures life link instead of just one.
