Welcome ! Merieke Ri Berit (aka Meri for the rest of the description) is my second attempt for this type of deck. She's like the little sister of Rubinia, another of my decks (http://www.mtgvault.com/carnadine/decks/edhrubinia-super-seductress/).Just like his older sister, Meri can steal creatures from your opponents. His ability is even stronger because Beri don't give back the creature, she destroys it. She is cheaper but such power deserves a counterpart. She doesn't untap normally.I wanted to continue to steal creatures but with the power of black color. Doing a clone fo Rubinia didn't have sense so Meri has his own way to control creature. Sure she can still steal them but unlike Rubinia, it's not the only feature. With the "Sirens cards", like dulcets sirens or shipwreck singer we can force creature to attack without stealing them. It can be used to strike a opponent with the creatures of another or like a anti-creature. Because you could be the target of the attack, the deck has several answer to discourage this behaviour. Teysa the greatest of them.Better you can encourage your opponents to fight against them with the crown of doom.Meri can't control other types of permanent. Only Master Thief can steal an artefact. Enchantements can be really annoying so I included a big amount (for me) of counterspell to prevent bad surprises.Special mention for Trinket Mage the reserve card tutor, mana generator, card drawer... He can do everything ! Tezzeret help him greatly. There is a little reanimation because I can't play black without reanimate stuff. Meri has a better recursion than old sister Rubinia. You should have now understand that Meri is shaped for fun not for being competitive. Thanks for reading my poor english !
