Because you can do things like, play elbrus on turn 3, equip, attack, likely deal damage and have a 13/13 flying demon on turn 3.

On top of what was already said above it is used in pro tour decks as well. naturally raising its price. also its just incredibly over powered because there's so many equipment cards that do ao many different things and this single card pulls whatever equipment you may need.
