Card discussion for Nighthowler

I don't understand. If I bestow it onto a creature wouldn't it just be an aura? But when the enchanted creature dies then Nighthowler becomes a creature again. Why does it say "Nighthowler and enchanted creature each get +X/+X"? That makes it sound like the creature gets the bonus twice. Confused...

The wording is to ensure the player understands that when the enchanted creature dies Nighthowler will be left behind as a creature with +X/+X.
