Made this deck with a friend in mind. Shrieking Affliction is super cheap but it can be pretty interesting at times.I played against someone running this with a bit of red splashed in (could make good use of scrylands) and also Desecration Demon's. The demon really dominates the board because it puts the opponent on a very short clock: either play cards and empty your hand to keep the demon at bay or take 6 every turn. Also, obviously Thoughtseize is superior to Duress (could even be played alongside it for more consistent discard) but one copy costs twice as much as this deck. Played alongside Desecration Demon, though, Duress is pretty much just as good since you'd rather the opponent dumps creatures on the board to deal with the demon. If you're interested in a much better build of this deck that's still relatively cheap, check this out: http://www.mtgvault.com/captainwizard/decks/good-shrieking-affliction/
Obviously the goal here is to get Shrieking Affliction on the field and have it tick away at the opponent's life.-This deck runs lots of discard like Duress and Mind Rot, with Drainpipe Vermin, Disciple of Phenax, and Ordeal of Erebos to help it out.-Slate Street Ruffian is a fun choice because opponent either has to lose a card in their hand or take 2 damage.-Stab Wound also ticks away at the opponent but can do other fun stuff, too.-Corrupt is here for some lategame burn/life-gain. Same with the Gray Merchant, though he adds more strength to the battlefield. The deck also has potential for some fun combo's with Drainpipe Vermin: Altar's Reap, maybe Stab Wound, Pharika's Cure, Devour Flesh, and Drown in Sorrow can give you benefits while forcing a discard.
