i would drop: x2 tainted strike, x1 steady progress and add in x2 skitty, x1 more engine. Also, you really need duals to make this deck work. darkslick shores, drowned catacombs, creeping tar pit. with just islands and swamps, there is a good chance you'll get mana screwed a lot. i know tainted strike looks nice and all, but really what is it getting you? infect on your infect creatures? like i said, id take 2 out. the distortion strikes are a good call, unblockable infect is very nice. i like the echo mage idea and to be honest i didnt even think about the proliferation move your pulling with him until i read it, and thats why i think he should stay. Does this help at all?

Very helpful critique. I've updated my deck as recommended. Also, I'm considering removing the Praetors, as they are slower and weaker (comparatively), and by that range in the mid game, I want to be closing in on the 10th poison counter, so more proliferate options or buffs to increase creatures doing (unblockable) infect damage, makes this combination more potent. (Plus its more copy targets for the Echo Mage.)
I've modified this deck into version 3 http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=107690 I think its even more of an aggro focused poison deck now.
