I don't know if you have more mob mentality, but you should def. add more of those, that's amazing in a deck like this. Especially if you add a card like goblin tunneler and make one of your creatures unblockable before they attack
i dont have anymore mentality in your opinion are they better than fists or blood lust??? i do really need to get a bit more up-to-date with the goblins in the deck!!!
yes i do think its better, mob mentality has the potential to buff your creature way more than 4, it gives it trample, and its an enchantment so it stays as long as your creature does
well you've sold it to me, am gonna take steps to get three more, many thanks!!!
Aura enchantments are bad.. mmmk? They let you get 2 for 1'ed in response by anyone with creature removal. Just say No to auras kids. The card you are looking for is Goblin Piledriver.
I disagree about auras, i think they are pretty effective when used correctly. And goblin piledriver is def. a good add, but also note that it's pretty expensive to buy, not over the top, but it's still 15 to 20 dollars. and as for creature removal, if someone has a creature removal, whether its an enchanted creature or just a creature with a good effect, the opponent is still going to remove it. Granted you need a creature and the aura for it to work, instead of just the creature, i still feel that auras are pretty effective and shouldn't be put off as unusable.
When someone removes a creature with an aura on it, they have spent one card to eliminate two of yours. This is a serious disadvantage and is the reason you wont see them used in competitive decks (excluding the few with Rancor style effects specifically designed to make them more playable). Most auras exist purely to tempt you into using them so that your opponents can feel superior when they counter it with a Lightning Bolt. If your opponent is going remove a good creature, wouldnt you rather have another good creature in your hand to replace it with rather than just playing an enchantment that gets killed along with your creature?
I both agree and disagree with your argument. I mean i completely see and understand your point, but to tell ya the truth it really depends on the aura used and how you use it. Canopy cover gives your creature hexproof so therefore put a huge stop to removal (although not completely stops it form happening). And for this aura, drop it on a creature you can do without but still can do damage with because of its ability and the opponent has to choose to either destroy a good creature or the buffed one, either way it works to your advantage. Yea you could just drop another creature instead of the aura always having a good creature ready to through out doesnt happen every time and the potential to make any creature a really good creature comes to a great advantage. like i said i both agree and disagree with what you're saying, it really depends on the aura, the deck, and how you play it. Although if he can get ahold of goblin piledriver, its definitely a great add for this deck and i agree that he should throw it in. Everyones entitled to their own opinion on strategys and card usage, that's why magic is so fun. The diversity in play style and strategy. (also the level in competitiveness, if you have the money totally go for a super competitive deck, but not everyone can do this sadly). If your a good enough player in the game you can make anything work, even auras. My opinion of course =p
thanks for all the advice, am gonna try a couple of slightly altered biulds, ive ordered some more mentality, and also sharpshooter/he is amazing, will pick up a couple more (includin pile driver) over the coming months. think there is alot of positive in these comments, and can see the drawback with auras Calner
Just a little note, its fine if you and your friends are just playing casually, but if you ever do move up to a more competitive type of play you should know that Goblin Recruiter is banned in legacy.
thanks, we are casual players, but would love to go into a tourney at some point, think most of my decks wouldn't be legal so would have to remove a few cards!!!
have just updated for a test through, will balance it further after a few games and the new cards have turned up!!!
after first play test was happy with how it fired, did lose but the look on the face when sharpshooter and krenko got down to business was amezin!!! have streamlined more
I just read that aura discussion a few posts up and completely disagree with aura's being bad. They DO take a lot more thought process and timing to be played but often provide very strong benefits. Auras in decks are not used in competitive play because 7 of 10 decks in low level play are defensive control... imo of course Auras with flash, cast or recurrent effects are always good though.
After a couple of games with this deck updated, I have come to the conclusion that mob mentality doesn't work with this deck, the main reason was that mentality only gives you a good benefit if every creature you have attacks, but with the sharpshooter, krenko and prospector rarely will their be every creature attacking??? so I decided to remove, testing has proven very positive with it out and some x spells inserted!!!
I don´t know if this deck is still active, but if it is, then I highly recommend Basilisk Collar to go with your Goblin Sharpshooter. Any creature, big or small, who is not indestructible will die, and Sharpshooter untaps himself, ready for another kill ]:-) )
i'd not thought of that, badge for that man!!!!! lol
Your welcome, good sir =)
its in, I had a couple kicking around too, have put them in a good home!!! lol
Nice, man =) It´s a dirty combo, but fun ! haha. In the right MU you could clear the field without worries =)
funny we have been talking about this combo as a person used a similar combo last night at my local fnm, and unsurprisingly done really well!!!
There´s also the card "Quietus Spike" - a tad more expensive om the mana-side, but very funny to use. And by 'funny' I naturally mean 'Evil-as-Hell' xD
ive got a couple of those too, technically 1 of them would drop the opponents life down in but a couple of turns that is evil!!!
