guess it depends on what you are willing to spend. gauntlet of might is completely optional. I use it cuz I have 3 of them and im not afraid to use them. mana rocks and artifacts/enchantment that effect mana are great to use; like mana flare and doubling cube. Psychic Corrosion, Sphinx's Tutelage, and Consecrated Sphinx play nicely together, along with X casting cost draw power. check out my deck. I'm incorporating some of the cards from your deck into mine.

its an awesome deck. and before "The Rona" happened, its was a very hated deck in my play group.

the spell says our opponent can add to the spell. discard land, add counters, may choose new target. this says to me that after your opponent drops a land, he can throw it back into your face. besides, if the spell isnt countered, this trick will only work once and people will start holding lands forthe throwback.

mill is jut another version of control. and blue is all about control.

if i remember correctly, planeswalkers cant be commanders unless it says so on the card.

Suggestions on good ways to turn this into a pauper-ish deck?

I have a Mill Commander deck, Phenax as commander. its my original version (no net decking) that ive been tweeking for about 2 years now. a good combo to try is Phenax w/ Eater of the Dead, targeting your opponents graveyards.
