The goal of the deck is to have a few creatures out, then use Past in Flames to cast Pyretic Ritual and Battle Hymn multiple times, ending in a Soulblast.Ideally, you would want to start by casting Gitaxian Probe to see if your opponent had a counter that turn, otherwise, start the combo and use the phyrexian mana to cast/flashback Gutshot and Gitaxian Probe during the combo for additional damage.
