Outlined above is a Grixis control deck that is responsive to the standard metagame. It utilizes a potent blend of control spells that are recurred by Torrential Gearhulks.
This deck is hellbent on getting 2-for-1s and 3-for-1s and slowly grinding out a sizable advantage on both the board and in the hand. The deck will go 1-for-1 early with efficient removal and counterspells and then open the door with the Gearhulks and a singleton Goblin Dark-Dwellers. Torrential Gearhulk'ing a Glimmer of Genius and surprise blocking a creature and eating it is effectively an ol' spicy 4-for-1. Goblin Dark-Dwellers can recur Unlicensed Disintegrations, Anticipates, and Harnessed Lightnings. Noxious Gearhulk is a 2-for-1 then can gain some important life points back. Chandra and the Wandering Fumaroles serve as the other win-cons for the deck.In games 2 and 3, the sideboard gives options for some of the peskier cards in the format. Horribly Awry is very effective against Scrapheap Scrounger. A second Fatal Push and Ceremonious Rejection is useful against Hearts of Kiran. Dispel and Dragonmaster Outcast come in against the mirror. And last but not least, Thing in the Ice comes in out of the board for almost every game 2. After game 1, you have likely encouraged your opponent to board out most of their efficient early removal. They will likely be really sore when the first T.I.T.I. hits the board. Some Shocks would be the only additional SB consideration to help in breaking up the Saheeli combo.
