Deck Description

Yes, I know B/R Vamps is strong right now... But I want to try and make a playable mono-black Vamp deck. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Why remove the discard? I can understand needing removal, I just don't happen to have Go for the Throat right now and don't much care for Doomblade since B/R Vamps is so popular.

hi mate, sorry for late reply, 1stly may i say stick to your guns with the mono black theme like you say black/red may be strong but i think nothing flows like a mono deck, also theres enough artifacts to help these days, i have severeal one colour decks and they tend to be my better ones,
i like the speed here early denial and removal it seems in good balance, preators grasp although it appears it should be awsome is it a bit limited ?, depend what colour your up against seems more of a sideboard card for me although i appreciate it still removes the card from there libarary, but just not sure despise would sufice and fit in along the inquisitions and duress's, if your all black i really really like grasp of darkness for removal its in all my mono black decks -4 -4 for 2 mana so many creatures rae made strength 4 to survive lightning bolts the grasp takes care of em, gets round indestructability also, id consider adding these.
i love bloodghasts more than words can say, glad to see them in there, not sure why you have the hex mage's, infect removal maybe, might be worth just tossing in those lands that have the counters on them, just a couple, you know the ones that produce the 20/20 just for laughs,

good fast well built deck, keep the tutaleges and sign in bloods you cant undereastimate card draw for these decks, well done, good job.

p.s my elf and co deck (poorly named), had kina developed more around the precurser golem theme now take a further look if you would, many thanks.

Hey thanks fluff! I like some of your suggestions, and will use them when I play casual, but this thing is standard legal, so Dark Depths is out.

So, Praetor's Grasp seems limited... But I rocked this thing at FNM and man, those cards saved my butt. Every competitive deck is either running Black, or some strong artifacts (aside from elves, in which case I'd swap out for more removal). Cawblade? I'll take the Swords, or Batterskull. Kuldotha? Why thank you, that Signal Pest sure is handy with all my vamps out. B/R Vamps? BAHAHAHA!! It's a bomb, especially when they are playing with a less than ideal draw.

Hexmage... it's a 2/1 first strike for 2... That's not bad. Put that card against any planeswalker or infect deck and it is even stronger.

This deck is gonna have some changes made really soon... Stoneforge Mystic and Jace just got banned in Standard, so CAWblade is gonna be OUT! :-)

I didn't mean remove all the discard, I still don't think you understand the power of surgical extraction, it will wreak havoc on Alot of decks, turn one duress/despise- extract their key cards it's a great sb card that can really hurt alot of combo decks
