It doesn't quite work with the mana base but from what I remember astral slide would reset a phantom's counters when they returned from exile. Makes me wonder if astral slide with green/white cycling lands would fit in.

Looks like a super fun deck to play. I'm wondering if you thought about dropping a Feldon's Cane or 2 in to reshuffle everything back into the deck.
Yeah I played a deck similar to this almost 15+ years ago and still have it sleeved up so figured it'd be fun to look at. I had a couple magnivore in it . Wildfire I'd usually cast with a mana dork and forest in hand waiting to be played. The deck at the time needed a reset for when a turn 2 land destruction didn't go off. Plus with mana dork and land in hand figured it could recover faster than the opponent for the most part. I figured it would be interesting to tweak considering how much havoc Blood moon seems to cause decks that have almost no basic lands. I have the pillages and the ice storms so I could play either. I need to take a look at the side but hurricane was definitely in the mix. I doubt it could be competitive but with the right draw it gave people fits in the past. Stashing a creeping mold and pillage in the side was mainly so I could wish for them. I was thinking of the wishes as either getting additional LD out of the tool box as well as finishers/problem solvers.
Thanks I'd play it if I had any of the new sets I've only bought a few of the new cards to try out. Here's the two decks I'm working on for when my brother is back for Thanksgiving. http://www.mtgvault.com/brewski/decks/esper-delver-modern/ and http://www.mtgvault.com/brewski/decks/jeskai-delver/ I'm more excited about the control aspects of the Esper but the Jeskai has a tool box of 24 instants for snapcaster to work with. This is what my Grixis Standard deck looked like when I was last paling standard - http://www.mtgvault.com/brewski/decks/grixis-tempo/
I hear you if it's hitting no need to change the only reason I'd change it out would be if I was casting it and not pulling anything out since they didn't have Planeswalkers or creatures.
How often does despise hit in the current standard? I'd contemplate having a mix of it and thoughseize to try to minimize times where it wouldn't trigger a discard. I like Mindswipe as a mix of Power sink with fireball damage built in so I'm wanting to give it a try. If I was going to play Grixis in standard I'm thinking I'd go for a discard/counter/burn type deck along these lines - http://www.mtgvault.com/brewski/decks/grixis-standard-2014/
Lands -1 Swamp, -1 Island, +1 Hallowed Fountain, +1 Watery Grave ,-3 Lingering Souls, +3 Treasure Cruise
I'll have to see if I can find or trade for the shock lands but I was just looking at the previous tide hollow esper deck and revised the mana base with fetid heath and marsh flats.
Yeah I was thinking about picking treasure cruise but it's hard to find right now. I was curious to check out Steam Augury to see what it played like. I loved Fact or Fiction which it reminds me of plus potentially I could recast instants that got sent to the yard with snap caster. They could get switched for treasure cruise at some point.
Would you want to side phantasmal images to deal with legendary creatures?
I could work on a list for current standard but was mainly toying with mixing my modern snap caster discard deck with my no longer standard U/R delver deck to see what it'd look like. I've not played much since a couple years ago around Innistrad.
