Deck discussion for To Mill or To Stomp?

I like the idea and how powerful those creatures can be but not only are they really slow, they are all easy to kill. By the time you're getting a creature out, les you land dark rituals of course, aggro would have already won. Even if you get you're creatures out with dark rituals though, that means instead of a mill spell, you had it and by playing your creature early, it's still weak so even then you're creatures are too slow being ALL 5 mana creatures.

Mill I feel is something you have to dedicate the whole deck to, to work. If every one of those creatures were a mill spell instead and you have great ones so you'd know which ones to use, this deck would then work a lot better I feel. Anyways, that's my take on it. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the comments! I have tons of mill decks, and would agree that if the point was pure milling it would be best to scrap the creatures more or less, and leave them as side board material backup plans.

I would agree that this deck takes a while to get going, and against really quick decks it can struggle. Hopefully between counterspells and creature removal (ultimate price) i can delay enough to get a creature or two out. I did have a few Jace's in there for immediate pressure - i will swap them back in.

You don't have to dedicate entirely to mill (Black and Blue allies). I like the idea behind your deck though but see if you can find some 2-3 drop mill creatures I know there out there. also another great card to add would be Raven Guild Mage.

Black and blue allies work well for the mill because they ARE dedicated to mill. Whereas many of his creatures did not mill but instead went for a second win con for damage. The allies themselves mill the cards.
