Deck Description

A deck centred around Hedron alignment's wincon.

Suggestions welcomed. Keep it standard.

replaced cancel with void shatter and dragonlords prerogative with oath of jace for another way to exile a hedron and for delve fuel respectively.
swapped out all treasure cruise for dig through time. More consistent win to Dig through time at end of enemy turn to set up the hedron win by your following upkeep.

EDIT: replaced Dig with Anticipate. Wow I havent played in a while.

How to Play

To summon Exodia-i mean win with Hedron Alignment, you need 1 copy in your hand, 1 in the grave, 1 on the field and 1 in exile.

The main strat is to draw like a madman. Once you have a copy in your hand and 1 on the field, you can send 1 in the grave using Monastery siege - Khan's effect or oath of jace.

You primarily get your 1 hedron in exile via void shatter.

This deck lets you scry like a river so setting this up should be relatively easier on you.

Nuke the board as necessary, counter, dip dodge and duck any nonsense with your counter suite.

Deck discussion for I summon Exodia

Love it! It's a very appropriate name too. Reminded me of my Relinquished deck using Staying Power and all the red Act of Treason variants to steal basically anything

sry Drak, the name wasnt really eye catching. Exodia Alignment was the original name.

Only thing I'd change is to take out cancels for void shatters. It's usually better to just exile the spell.

If you have the mana handy, you could even Void Shatter an Hedron Alignment.

|This makes me want to dig out my Yu-Gi-Oh decks to find the Exodia deck I made. I think Comparative Analysis may be a better choice than Dragonlord's Prerogative, simply for the cost. Sunken Hollow instead of Evolving Wilds, move Disdainful Stroke to the sideboard as well as Negate, replace these two and two Cancels with Void Shatter, and the other two Cancels with Scatter to the Winds, probably Replace the two Clash of Wills with Scatter to the Winds too. Mage-Ring Network may come in handy.

i think you mean polluted delta witch is a blue-black fetchland. Sunken hollow eff: (T), add B or U to your mana pool. When sunken hollow enters the battlefield, if you control at least two basic land cards, sunken hollow enters the battlefield untapped.

I feel dig through time may just be better than cruise...
Gets you deeper into your deck and allows you to filter better than random draw.

It's also an instant so say you have 1 hedron in play and 2 in the graveyard.
You can end of turn dig, exile one hedron and pull the last one to you hand and win on upkeep.

non-budget version

Last night at FNM we had a player who built a BU "Exodia" Hedron deck, and i went 2-2 with UR Prowess and he also went 2-2 somehow but with better tie breakers, thus knocking me out of the tournament. It can be easily beaten, but his deck crushed mid range and other control decks.

It's basically a control deck, going black nets you better removal and better sac effects.
its just an alt wincon for control.

i know, i'm just saying that a hedron deck beat me out of top 8. It's not a bad deck, but it's certainly not good/great either.

ThIs is a great deck, but there are more efficient options for it. I think sphinx tut. Is too slow for what you use it for. Let me instead recommend 4 baby jace and a pair of dig through time to help assemble pieces and exile

im trying to keep it relatively budget. Not pauper but below 60 bucks at least. Mtgvault is pretty much known for budget decks in the magic community.

Why Jace's Oath? You don't have any planeswalkers.

Dragonlord's Perogative might be too expensive, even for this deck. Ugin's Insight is 1 mana cheaper, still standard-legal, though that scry effect on it won't get you much. Someone above suggested Dig Through Time, that might be a good thing to replace Perogative with, since it gives you more delve potential to exile a Hedron Alignment, and it would help you search for Hedron Alignment more than just strait card draw.

I'm happy that i found this deck. I've tried to find a non artifact/ creature deck. I did not know it was even legal to do that, cool!!

You can do anything as long as its using the cards legal to the format, and follows other card qty rules etc.
This deck obviously isn't optimal, and could use 4x Jace, but that adds like 200$ to the price haha.
plus a few other cards like dig through time etc.

I like the idea of using hedron alignment but i think UW is not the more efficient. When i see your list i wonder how you do if you draw 2 hedron alignement. The only card you have is sphinx tutelage.
I think i would go UB with more dredge and delve spells.

0
Posted 02 February 2016 at 07:29

I agree, UB gives you cheap wipes(the new drown in sorrow, languish and crux) but like you said more delve spells and just better removal overall like foul-tongue, cut, misc other kill creature/walker spells.

Siege also allows for discard, not just tutelage

0

I find tutelage isn't good enough if you actually wanted to make this competitive.
Siege, jace and dig would be more than enough.

0

Others stated it above, but Sphinx's Tutledge isn't getting you much. It comes across as a huge mana sink, which you can't really afford in a control deck like this. I love the use of Oath of Jace though, that's clever, and really powerful in this deck. Too bad there aren't any control-based planeswalkers that aren't stupidly expensive in standard, that's be a great synergy.

nice deck my fiend, i am a big fan of control. i am not quite the standrad player, i know that esper draggon is deck in stadard. i tihnk this dek is like esper draggonn, but duno if hedron alignment as good fnisher as draggons, obvliously slower but who cares control is slow game plan anywa,. i see that this dek quite the buget, but i would if have moenby ugin is good. i approve control deck, i play esper stoneblade legacyy, if u ever legoscy i recomend esper stoneblade, or grizis delver, or even jeska stoneblade, they all good control decks.

Haha very nice deck! I've managed to pull a playset of foil Hedron Archives and now I am ordering my playset of the promo version. I'm currently building my own casual brew around the card and I must say your deck has given me some good ideas. I especially like the Swift Reckoning to deal with those "land decks" in Standard, killing a land is just insane value and shuts down the extra turns deck very well. While I personally do think you should run fetchlands, I understand why some people prefer budget brews. Not everyone has a playset of every card in Magic like I do. Thank you for making my day brighter and have a wonderful day!

Gave the deck a few play throughs and it plays pretty good, lots of changes are possible depending on your budget. Some easy once would be adding Jace, Vryn Prodigy and fetch lands, although that would hike up the price quite a bit :( .

I personally took out the Treasure cruise since I found having 5 delve cards is a little to much and most of the time you wont have enough cards in your graveyard to exile to be efficient enough with the delve mechanic. I would also recommend silk wrap (not sure if others have suggested it already) as an alternative to celestial flare, if your local meta has lots of big creatures then Celestial Flare is obviously better. I also bumped up the Ojutais Command to 3 since I like the extra card draw/extra counter spell. Its kind like a cryptic command :)

For my own list I also splashed black, to add 4x Utter End as some more removal but for that you would need to add fetch lands and Sunken Hollows but again that would hike up the price.

All in all pretty cool deck and I love the name :)

0

hmm...3 Ojutais..My problem was getting that 4 mana. The only slots I can take out are the silkwraps but Im not sure if its worth getting rid of spot removal.
Youre right, Black is a stronger creature control color but im scared of throwing off the balance by swapping or adding a new color.

I've seen lists like this but uses the Alignment as an alternate win con. So the main thing is you have 4 of Alignments, 4 of clever impersonator (can copy alignment) and 4 of star field of nix. You then use removal like stasis snare, silk wrap, etc. You can win by punching people with enchantments. Or occasionally, align the hedrons.

Easily. I have a modern narset control and use her as a beefy draw engine, or to rebound a board wipe (thug life right there). I don't think I've ever used her ultimate though
