Phyrexian Obliterator and Abyssal Persecutor in a vampire shell, what could go wrong?
Here's a brief layout of the deck's inner workings:
The Bombs:
4x Phyrexian Obliterator and 3x Abyssal Persecutor. Both these guys are the 4cmc bombs the deck is great with, both planned on turn 3 with a timely Sphere of the Suns. The obliterator just makes everything so difficult for the opponent, he's a roadblock when defending and a rampaging machine with trample when you want to go to town with him.
The Abyssal Persecutor is a very nice addition too, the 6/6 flying trampling machine is great for on the offense, nearly unstoppable on turn 3, it will be mostly Go for the Throat s that will get to him. My own Go for the Throat s, Viscera Seer s and Gatekeeper of Malakir s will rid of him when he's done his job.
The Element of Control:
4x Inquisition of Kozilek, 4x Gatekeeper of Malakir, 2x Vampire Hexmage and 3x Go for the Throat The inquisitions are a great way to stop early Stoneforge Mystic s, Lotus Cobra s, Fauna Shaman s, the triplet Swords, counterspells, killspells and other threats to the deck. It fits perfectly on the curve too, next to the Viscera Seer s.
Gatekeeper of Malakir is just great 2-for-1-ing, these guys count as 3 cmc btw, so the curve looks less crooked than you might've thought on first glance.
Vampire Hexmage against Walkers, easy right?
Go for the Throat is just amazing against basically anything in the format, especially with everyone backing away from artifacts due to the splash-hate they get from players who hate swords and skulls.
The Vampire Shell:
4x Kalastria Highborn, 4x Bloodghast, 4x Gatekeeper of Malakir, 3x Viscera Seer, 2x Vampire Hexmage and 2x Vampire Nighthawk. A package that has proven itself time and time again, the interaction between the cards are just so synergistic it's insane.
I hope you all enjoy the new angle on the Vampires archetype, and don't forget to like or comment! (or both)
