This is a control/combo deck. Use gerrard's and dragoons to gain life. academy rector is for getting necro/yawgmoth and words of war out. use wrath and mortify as your defense. when you have enough life start skipping your draw phase and pump out damage with yawgmoth/necro words of war combo
