Like my original Fiery Percussion deck, this deck revolves around the card Repercussion (from Urza's Destiny). It is a direct damage deck, but allows you to get more bang for your buck from your damage spells. It is also easier to play than my other FP deck, as it is mono-red.
Of course, play Repercussion ASAP. This enchantment copies any damage (direct or combat) done to a creature to its controller. To minimize the effect of this on your own life total, you will probably want to let some attacking damage through to you in the early game. Your creatures are more valuable for their abilities, or the occasional attack when your opponents' blockers are tapped out, so you don't want them dying in combat and dealing you damage in the process. For instants/sorceries/abilities that let you choose a target (creature or player), choose creature whenever Repercussion is in play, and you will deal damage to the player simultaneously. Spells that deal damage to both creature and player are even more effective; for example, Chandra's Outrage now deals 4 damage to a creature and 6 to its controller, instead of 2. Not bad for a CMC of 4.The best combo is Repercussion + Satyr Firedancer + a direct damage instant/sorcery. Let's say your opponent has 5 creatures out, and you cast Chandra's Fury. It plays out like this:> Chandra's Fury: 4 to opponent, 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 to creatures>> Repercussion: 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 to opponent>> Satyr Firedancer: 4 to one creature>>> Repercussion: 4 to opponentYou'll kill off any of your opponent's 1 toughness creatures you targeted, plus one of your choice with a 5 or lower toughness, and you dealt your opponent 13 damage by the time it all resolves.Imagine that combo with Chandra, The Firebrand's ultimate ability... game over.
