Deck Description

BREW REPORT (62% Winrate 31/50)
It's been a long time since I've done one of these, partly because of the lack of time I've had the last few months. Now that I've got some spare time again I'm back into the brewing game. So here I bring you all the first brew of this year UB faeries.

Faeries were always kinda relevant in pauper from Spellstutter Sprite to Faerie Miscreant and from time to time a tribal would pop up in the meta as well. So here's my take on it, I started from scratch looking through all cards with faerie typing or with faerie in their textbox.
Whilst making the deck I was considering Curfew to bounce my own Spellstutters or Miscreants back to my hand but then I remembered that Cavern Harpy was common aswell. With a bounce engine in place this deck began to take form.
Besides Cavern Harpy for bounce and the before mentioned Spellstutters and Miscreants the deck runs 2 Latchkey Faerie to keep tempo up, and 2 Nightshade Stinger to help get it out. Ringskipper is key to stall the aggro meta we're in right now and Pestermite and Sigil of Sleep help to stall aswell. Ninja of the Deep Hours rounds out the creature base and is an obvious inclusion.
We run a single Bonesplitter which is somewhat reminiscent of the older delver decks which wanted to keep the tempo up. And then a sheet of removal and counters which should be tweaked according to your meta (although Peppersmoke should be considered a main stay.)

So now that you know about the card in the deck how does this deck play? It plays like a tempo deck with a spin, not relying on big stats but on evasive threads. You want to slam as fast as possible and keep your opponents thread level low by removing or bouncing their creatures. Although you have to adapt to the matchup like with any deck. You can't outrace delver or stompy so you gotta force unfavourable blocks and outsmart them.
An ideal hand would have a 1 drop in the form of Miscreants/Nightshade/Preordain and either removal to hold up for turn 2 or another Faerie, 2/3 lands and removal. Getting your creatures on board early is key as once they're on board you can start pumping mana into removal whilst still staying relevant on board.
One of the better plays you can make is to Curfew your Spellstutter Sprite in response to a spell being cast and then counter it with the Sprite you bounced, essentially boiling down to a cancel that bounces a dude aswell.
Gonna state the obvious here but if you face off vs aggressive decks you want to prioritise removal over playing creatures if your creatures can't trade, or trade well, and vs control decks you want to beat their face in before they gain control.

Now into the actual matchups

mono u delver (50/50)
Could go either way, they have a faster clock and more control elements but we have redundancy and we can trade with their creatures.

Their clock is slow if you counter their anthems, just gotta keep it under control.

elves (their favour)
Their clock is fast and their deck redundant but we have a chance to outrace them if we kill the right pieces.

Burn is a race one we are likely to lose although I've gotten close, and sideboarded counters help a lot.

snow-go (50/50?)
Snow-go is a broad term and the sideboard should be taken with a grain of salt. Overall it plays like Teachings/Alchemy does.
