Deck discussion for Sliver Sliver Slivers

Question: Say I have Root Sliver, Toxin Sliver, Spitting Sliver, and a 1/1 sliver token on the field. My opponent has a theoretical 8/8 creature with trample on the field. If I attack him with my 1/1 sliver token with first strike and Toxin Sliver’s ability, and he defends with his theoretical 8/8 creature; will my 1/1 sliver token kill his creature without taking damage?

It also seems that the symbol for infinity changes to an 8 on this site.

I may be wrong but.. from my understanding, no the token does not die nor take damage. Here's the Crystal Keep Ruling G6.5a

"G6.5a - First strike is a static ability that modifies the rules for the combat damage step. At the start of the combat damage step, if at least one attacking or blocking creature has first strike or double strike (see Rule 502.28), creatures without first strike or double strike don't assign combat damage. Instead of proceeding to end of combat, the phase gets a second combat damage step to handle the remaining creatures."

Pretty awesome much the ultimate attacker/blocker if this is true :p

Also, Gemhide's effect: Does that mana come from your deck, or are you creating some sort of "mana token"?

adds a mana to the mana pool, guess you can say its a token.

So it would be possible to run Sliver Queen and Sliver Overlord with this deck.

ignore the double post, but yes you could run queen and overlord with this deck, main reason I didn't them in though is simply the price of the cards. the deck is good enough without them imo.

Vinh gave me Essence Sliver. I really like the effect, and I was wondering witch card I should replace it with. I was thinking Darkheart. Thoughts?

maybe one of the higher costing slivers? a reflex? if you're planning to add white to deck, try adding in some more different lands, maybe some vivids? some nice dual element/white slivers that you could consider adding are: Harmonic Sliver, Necrotic Sliver, Pulmonic Sliver, and Sidewinder Sliver. Adding these in shouldn't be too much of a problem, get rid of Darkheart if you do not find the card useful, or Frenzy.
