What about the new baral?

It doesn't make drakes!
Just in the deck. He gives you card advantage when you counter things and he makes stuff cheaper. I think hed be good in here.
Baral is defintely a good option for this deck! It synergizes well, and you could probably cycle through the deck fast enough to get him out in the field for that nice card advantage. At the current moment, most of the cards in this deck are below $1.50. Most range in the $0.25 range, while the most expensive might be around $1.23 or so. I think on TCG Gatherer this deck hovers around the $25 range. The reason being, if you wanted to get into EDH, but didn't want to spend an arm an a leg. This deck could use a lot of good fine additions to help it synergize a lot more efficiently. However, now that you mention it, this deck should still be under $30.00 if I included baral. I'll update it with your suggestion! :)
While playing Talrand a few years ago I always found that drawing a mana rock made me regret it wasn't a counter spell. You should definately add Eldrazi Monument and/or Coat of Arms as wincon.
I feel Fellwar stone, sky diamond, and even worn powerstone are good canidates for the chopping block. While making this deck I was a bit anxious about not having enough mana available as blue often needs.since the bulk of this deck is instant and sorceries, this deck should prioritize doing most of their casting during opponents turns to deal with threats. Depending on the scale and size of the commander game, 2-3 opponents would drain your mana pretty fast. In a 1v1, I think this deck would have more than enough mana to get rid of many mana rocks. However, you do bring up a good point about massing drakes and empowering them as the win condition. I will look into some good cost effective options to take care of that. Thanks for your input!
