The deck begins with Nissa Revane. Her abilities are the primary theme of the deck. Then I looked for the best combination of Elves I could put together (within Modern legal) to maximize her abilities and take advantage of what elves tend to do best anyway--come out fast and build on one another. At the same time I wanted to find the best possible planeswalker to team with Nissa, and I feel I've found it in Ajani Goldmane. Ajani's abilities perfectly work together, and with Nissa's life gaining ability added to it, Ajani's third ability can produce a very large Avatar. Then I balanced out all this offensive potential by finding two of white's best lockdown cards to give the opponent that much more frustration. The final element came in taking advantage of Druid of the Anima which produces red mana as well. This allowed me to safely add two potential game changers and game enders. Fireball is a natural fit given the elves' ability to generate mana, and Mayael's Aria is a unique alternative that can make the most of Ajani Goldmane. This deck combines so many great elements and possesses so many interesting paths to victory that I really believe it could be tournament quality once you perfect the application of its different methods. This entire deck has a mana cost of 4 or less.
