Deck Description

I played a similar deck at FNM last week and went 3-0-1. I decided to drop the set of 4 Drogskol Captain and 4 Glacial Fortress for 4 Rally the Peasants and 4 Clifftop Retreat. I found myself wanting to get some extra damage through and Rally the Peasants does a great job. I will be playing this version this Friday. Any advice is welcome! The sideboard is constantly changing so it is not posted.

*EDIT-2*
Changed the deck to a more consistant version.

Deck discussion for FNM B/W

elspeth isnt actuly that good in these decks because if you blow her ulti you destroy all your anthums.
but if you dont blow he and just use her for life and tokens im sure that would be fine.

Actually, I have used her Destructive ability to save me against other creature heavy decks like werewolves. It is really her life gain that helps.

I might prop the honor the pures for some removal or direct damage spells.

HUH? Not to pop your bubble, but this deck does not need removal since I don't care what you get in play. Honor is basically a staple in this kind of deck. I have played creature heavy decks and not one has beaten this deck yet. Removal is pointless in this deck.

I like it, I would play this just as it is if I had any Elspeth and more than 2 Sorins. I would imagine that since everyone is now playing ratchet bombs main, with more in their sideboard, that becomes an issue. a friend of mine is playin a deck kinda like this (doomed travelers and Drogskol Captain being the biggest difference) and he runs 4 surgical extraction sideboard since ratchet bomb is mean to him (with or without glissa)

This deck seems like it would be a pain. It would probably destroy the little Spirit decks. Oh and congrats on going undefeated at FNM :P I would like to play this some time. :D

I run a deck very simular to this right now. One thing these decks have going for them is consistancy. very nice build. Tell me what you think about mine.

Nice build! Mind if I suggest a few things? I would drop the Blade Splicers for 2 Heroes, one more Haunting, and one Elspeth. Having more 3/3 tokens is generally better than having one 5/5 token. Especially if your 3/3's have flying. Elspeth is absolutely vital in these decks. The lifegain will keep you alive against aggro decks. I've seen someone at 1 life turn 5 and able to win because of Elspeth. Besides that, looks great. Can't really see it winning Grand Prixes or anything, but consistent tourney and FNM winning stuff! Hey, I might even be wrong.

If you want to see a novel and rogue build for standard, please look at my deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=296682
Good building, and good luck!

Looks great and very stable. I agree with changing the splicers for heroes, they easily become a bigger threat!

Are you running 4 Sorin because you find him dying fast and often? Normally, running 4 of a planeswalker is like running 4 of the same Legendary: dead card in your hand while you wait for the other to die. With the number of creatures you're popping out, you shouldn't have trouble protecting him, so 4 might be overkill. Not knowing his longevity in your meta, though, I'm not going to argue the point. :)

Otherwise, pretty damn solid deck. Nice wrok.

yeah looks pretty epic dude and he is prolly running 4 to increase his chance of drawing him like he said honor of the pure is pretty important to his game plan so id assume hed value sorins emblem just as much and even without elspeths final ability she can still put 3 tokens on the board just the other day i was playing a guy he was running mono white humans and i was running this http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=302549 and i had him in a pretty bad spot i had burned out most of his early threats and had stuck a delver and he played elsepth put three tokens on the board i used my las burn spell in hand to finish of the walker and a combination of not being able to flip delver and not drawing burn i eventually lost to those 3 tokens buffeed with 2 honor the pure ...she can seriously save someone by producing 3 creatures and like he said the life gain is invaluable as well
