Hello! I'm a fellow Green Devotion addict. Working on the Ascendancy combo myself with a few differences.Wondering what kind of value you get for 4 x Genesis Hydra before you go infinite? What value for X do you get early game? Also I've found Kiora's Follower to be more desirable than Voyaging Sathr as it enables early ramp from the Acolyte pre-combo as well as land. Just a suggestion! Good stuff though mate; like from me.

Pre combo, I won't play genesis hydra for anything less than whatever combo piece I'm missing. Be it Karametra's Acolyte I'd play him for 6cmc. This deck has two weaknesses, heavy control, and weenies.Kiora's follower was in the deck but the blue wasn't consistent enough. Thanks for the Like!
Plus voyaging satyr can be bounced with Sabertooth for infi.
A few things:1: Lands that etb tapped. In my experience, these slow you down way too much. I would suggest pain lands like Yavimaya coast instead.2: Is Bassara Tower Archer a good choice? It only provides devotion, I'd suggest cards that can win you the game instead.3: Singing Bell Strike. In my experience, 2 of these is a good number. With 4, you might get trapped with one in hand and naught to do but tap a creature, OR you may play it on acolyte, but have them wild slash a mystic or something, losing the necessary devotion and tapping your best mana producer.
1. I usually have atleast 1 land that won't come in tapped, my land has never been an issue.2. A hexproof devotion guy that can block fliers, and I can target to grow infinitely, is a bad thing? I've won 4 games with this dude.3. Bellstrike is the key to the combo and only control main board. Without keys of the combos, I don't win.All in all, this is a retired deck that did very well. I've moved from standard, its too costly for cards that I won't use long.
Technically it's still not winning you the game, Nylea would be in that case. Furthermore, in my opinion sabertooth+ascendancy is a much better combo than bell strike.
Why have one win factor if you can have multiple without changing much of the deck?
I mean bell strike should be a back up combo card, as if you don't get an acolyte/satyr but DO get a bell strike, what are you going to do with it? Plus, to win you count on getting Nylea, Gen Hydra or Poly K and hoping they don't have removal. I would suggest ditching the archer and replacing it with a win con. E.g. Hydra Broodmaster or anything with an ETB effect (Purphoros, Hornet Queen, Nylea's Disciple [Which doesn't win you the game, just gives you infinite life, you could still be milled to dead] etc.)
So if I don't have my keys to any combo but have 3 bell strikes in hand, what do I do?I use the bell strike on their biggest pain is the @$$ to preserve health. My game winners aren't the hardest to find via Genesis Hydra, and my kitty, especially if I am already going on infinite mana.
But that requires you having a gen hydra. I just don't find those choices of cards to be best.
