The goal of this deck is to get the lands to produce 2 or 3 mana per tap, (counter opposing spell to buy time and drawing cards) untap them with voyaging satyr, garruk, or magus of the calendabra, and then cast huge creatures like emrakul, ulamog or the new colossus of akros. Since almost none of these lands tap for colored mana, 2 chromatic lanterns are provided. It also provides a white source for terra eternal. Once the huge eldrazi of the colossus are on the field, a few attacks will finish the game.

interesting idea. Im not in love with it, but it could be effective. just remember that Chromatic Lantern creates an additional ability on your lands, so your Urzas Tower, with the other two on board can tap for (3) OR one of any color.

i am am aware of that but i would be happy to have a versatile mana for eldrazi temple in any color, and eye of ugin is made more useful when it actually taps for mana
I would actually replace the lanterns with Explore or Expedition Map, or even Sylvan Scrying. they are all mre versitile than the lantern I think
true but the lantern is my source of colored mana. relaying on temple of mysteries and toltaria west (possibly vensuva if i choose to copy one of their lands and not an urza land) for colored mana is not a good game plan. so having a chromatic lantern or 2 helps with the mana fixing.
