Hello,I've fiddled around with the idea of a L/D deck in standard for awhile now, and, while it does seem to be a bit difficult to pull off, its definitely fun and entertaining to play. My best results for it lately were basically playing a G/R Midrange deck with plenty of ramp and a few L/D cards. Bramblecrush and Frenzied tilling were my only L/D outside of ember swallower and it worked out really well. 8 dorks for ramp/stabilization, ember swallowers, Ghor-clan Rampagers, Burning-Tree Emissaries, magma jets, clan defiance, And Xenagos. It worked out pretty well, i didn't usually have an issue with mana either, despite sacking my own lands, fenzied tilling and 24 lands(18 basics) felt right. This is just my experiences. Its definitely gun though. Good luck and watch out for sweepers!

I do want to build/play a land destruction deck too, sounds like fun. But I feel like this deck will lose to a rakdos aggro deck really bad. aggro decks can deal 13 damage by turn 3, and your land destruction happens only at 4 mana, or turn 4. I feel like we'll need more removal, maybe add 4x lightning strike and mizzium mortars, remove 4x Sylvan Caryatid - don't need slyvan to mana ramp, elvish mystic is good enough imoAlso maybe cut down on 1 ember swallower and 1 primordial and 1 druid to make room for the mizzium mortarswhat do you think?
Against aggro, you'd have to di some serious sideboarding. Sylvan is far too good to cut, especially because it stalls against aggro AND avoids spot removal while still tapping for any color. L/D decks are meant to play midrange while disrupting opposing mana bases, this strategy is really good again other midrange decks, control decks, and decks that combo/base strategy off of certain non-creature permanents(land, enchants, and walkers are the easiest to deal with) Primordial may be a little too big for this deck, but, the ember swallowers are perfect in here.
EtherKingD - There is no way I would be casting turn 4. Turn 3 is the aim with the either an elf or a caryatid. Mizzium is sideboarded. I haven't seen very many aggro rakdos decks around so I'm not very worried. The way I've built the deck and even in the sample hands, I will be destroying a land every turn, stalling the opponent (barring a Thoughtsieze). I don't know of many decks that can function well with 2 mana. Stall till I get an ember swallower and then the opponent will have nothing. And I'm free to attack an empty board.Konjester - Thank you.
Just saying no one is going to help land destruction... to yucky!!! xD But I'd drop the Zhur Taa druids to strengthen up either the burn, ember swallowers and land destruction, you don't really need that vast amount of ramp without much to ramp in to, hope this helps!
But you might need those mana creatures, as Ember swallower says "Player" not "Opponent". Just a thought.
