Add things to give your guys with counters haste get them attacking quicker.

Exava or Ogre Battledriver are Awesome.

When Theros comes out throw Purphoros, God of the Forge in here too, whenever a creature enters the battlefield he does to damage to opponent, and you can buff your guys for +1+0 for 3 mana as much as you can afford.

The best way is to make a Borborygmos Enraged EDH deck. 50 mountain, 49 forest, cast Borborygmos turn 8 for laughs...

The ban list are things that just make EDH either too unbalanced or ridiculous combos. Being able to pay 7 life and draw 7 cards is something of a large advantage considering the current available card pool. And something like worldfire for EDH is just ridiculous.

Nah man, like castroa says, 60 slivers, nothing less. That's what we should be doing, seeing as he knows everything there is to know about magic we need to listen to him. There's no arguing with his logic.

This combo won't work once O-ring goes, because D-sphere can't target other D-Spheres.
