New Format: Bant, Efficiency A..

by Bellairs on 28 May 2012

Main Deck (40 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

My friend made a new format for MTG, just to shake it up:

Main decks are limited to 40 cards, with a max of 3 copies per card.

There is a separate zone for basic lands. Every turn you can choose to draw a card from the main deck, or select any basic land from the land zone and put it into your hand.

There is no limit to the amount or kind of basic lands in the land zone.

There is no limit to the kind of cards for the main deck (although, for sportsmanship's sake, don't abuse this rule).

Any effects for "your library" affects your main deck (so mill decks do not mill from the land deck).

Anyone else interested? Make a deck in this format, we dare you.

Deck discussion for New Format: Bant, Efficiency Above All Else

its cool that your trying to make a new format but i think this "format" just brings mtg down to Yugiohs level. having a seperate zone for lands and your library just means i could make a deck with 0 or 1 mana cost spells and get everything i wanted since its only a 40 card deck. if your looking for a new way to play magic i recommend planes chase or two-headed giant. they are much more refined and very fun. sorry if this criticism was a little rough but MTG Vault if for building decks... not formats. :I

"Down" to yu-gi-oh's level? I agree you could make a seriously stupid deck with this format, but you can anyway with Legacy. Even Standard's gotten pretty ridiculous with some OP cards.

The point here is to experiment and try out a new idea. MTG Vault happens to have some features I like to do so. I'm not shoving this down anyone's throat, if it's accepted it's fine, if it's not then you don't have much to worry about :/
