This is my version of a rat deck. I call it bubonic plague for the fact it's meant to give the rats deathtouch and infect. It's ever changing though so any and all help is appreciated. It works well, but needs to be much faster or it will never play the way it should. (Original idea and plan). After going through many cards and seeing what Wizards have come out with recently I decided to go back and update my rat deck. It was far too slow and had many more losses than wins. So I threw in a second ogre slumlord in place of the archetype of finality I originally had in the deck. I also halved the amount of relentless rats that I originally played in this deck for some faster to play and more useful cards to accompany the plague mechanic I am going for( still trying to decide if I should leave them in or replace with rat colonies though). Honestly probably no mythic tier deck or anything, but extremely fun to play with your friends(As a little side note if I had them, I would more than likely even add in 2-4 Swarmyards. In place of the nonbasic lands or even switch out a couple swamps for them.)
The ideal hand would start you off with one or two dark rituals, if you are lucky enough to get that draw, you could essentially play a spell from turn one and every turn after that. This deck performs by throwing rat after rat onto the battlefield and then eqquiping them with infect and or deathtouch. What the end goal is is to dwindle your opponent down with the poison counters while dealing most damage with a small army of relentless rat, giving infect with tainted strike and to use the archetype for the deathtouch it grants to keep your enemy's numbers small or gone all together. (Original idea and plan)With the Plague deck updated to include or slumlord and our Piper of the swarms along with our now cheaper to cast rats the basic mechanic didn't change much, it is still an infect/ aggro swarm deck. The way you go about the mechanic did change a bit. Instead of focussing on the midrange one cast a turn relentless rats our big hitter now is our Piper, you want to get your swarm built up with menace and deathtouch and keep their board as clear as you can while doing basic damage and possibly even stealing the win with your poison counters from time to time

No Pack Rat? Really?
Unfortunately I don't possess any pack rats. Would need to buy a few.
They're about $2 at the moment. Shouldn't be too hard
