some good enablers aiming for ninja of the deep hours or mistblade to control board state. some repeated ravenous rat bouncing with ninjutsu + okiba clan empties hands quickly. fairly slow mana dependent deck but i love ninjas and want to play them badly its a fun deck when all goes according to plan. any side board suggestions/ deck suggestions much appreciated :)
ideal enabler is ornithopter as you can ninjutsu him out and recast for free. i like to get ninja of the deep hours out first usually to keep card draw flowing or i use mistblade to bounce any posing threat. trinket mage is good because i can pull an ornithopter if i need or an aether spell bomb to bounce more things including my own ninjas. higure is the main beast. usually i will grab my second copy with his ability and then just pull ninjas to what ever the board state requires. ink eyes is usually more icing on the cake but he does have great defensive capabilities with regenerate and the fact that i can bring back a bomber from my opponents graveyard. After playing this deck a bit i've noticed it does fairly well against decks that want to do their own thing. If a combo goes off, sure ya got me, but if not prepare for a grind fest. Ninja bounce is really a mean thing for any deck that wants to play a fatty. my advice? play slow and steady. you have a lot of enablers. force them to use their removal on them. by late game you can even hard cast your silly ninjas. all the while just waiting on isochron scepter to forever bounce everything from lands to my own lands. its a fun deck and i recommend it

Nice deck. Like how Go for the Throat fits the lore of the deck.I have made a Modern Ninja deck, as well. Love the Ninjutsu mechanic! Check it out if you're curious. Took a few tries - and some harsh favourite-card-kicking - to get it done but I'm really happy with it. Might give you some inspiration.Cheers.

thanks man will do
Great, really love the synergy between Military Intelligence, Aqueous Form and Ninjutsu. Those two enchantments were such awesome additions to my deck.-Attack with Ninja and Enablers.-Scry-Draw, possibly Ninja or combat trick-Use Ninjutsu-Trigger multiple combat damage abilitiesJust another advice for your deck: Throatslitter is only really strong against non-black decks, so maybe he'd be better off in the sideboard at the beginning (dunno what your friends are playing mostly). And Gudul Lurker is overall better than Triton Shorestalker because it's also an unlockable 1/1 for one blue mana but you also can play it with Megamorph later on to get an unblockable 2/2.
so with military intelligence, will it trigger with say an ornithopter swinging and ninjustsu bouce in? or will i need two creatures to attack first?
Nah, that way it doesn't work. You need to have attacked with two creatures in the Declare Attackers step. Two Ornithopters (or a Thopter and a One-Drop) are enough, though, as it doesn't say anything about damage and such. The card you draw can be very valuable for the same Combat phase though, for example if you draw a Ninja you can then immediately use it after Blockers are declared. Combined with Aqueous Form, when you attack, you can decide in which order both triggered abilities hit the stack. So check first, then draw. Or the other way around if you're feeling lucky (or more probably already scry'd beforehand :) )If you want another good card draw option, check out the Bident of Thassa. It has:"Whenever a creature you control deals combat damage to a player, you may draw a card."It also has a second ability where you can force opponents' creatures to attack but that is rather situational.I love the non-damage condition of Military Intelligence more, though. As you can start drawing extra earlier with Thopters, for example, or if it's not looking good you can let your creatures attack into heavy blockers to get cards.
Hmmm, why no invisible stalker? That guy pretty much avoids removal and creatures for a living. Just a suggestion. Really like the deck and the synergy it has with the equipment not only on the basis of it being pretty good but because of flavor as well.
i got him in sideboard as a 2 of just in case i need to avoid some removal. i kept only 2 because the mana cost is 1U. ornithopter coming back in for 0 is nuts and the merfolk coming back at U sometimes is just too expensive. this deck aims to start in control and kind of keep it. if i have to take an extra turn to replace my enabler its usually a turn i cant come back from. also i run the judges familiar for a just in case counterspell.
updated. fell in love with boomerang and isocrhon scepter works with it or go for the throat very nicely.
