So what age is it socially acceptable to teach a toddler MTG? What age are you actually able to teach a toddler MTG? Well, as my three year old now knows numbers and colors and likes to count her crackers as she eats them, I figure she could maybe do counters for life totals ,right? Something visual. And I'm thinking make two specific decks. All vanilla creatures, no abilities, all one toughness (so anything can kill anything).Put one creature with an ability in the sideboard for more advanced play when she gets a little older/more advanced. Here's the blue one:https://www.mtgvault.com/basilicanero/decks/toddler-deck-blue/
Keep it simple.I 'm thinking Pacifism and Cleansing to add two 'advanced' cards. She doesn't read yet but she can memorize what the card looks like and that it means a creature cant do anything or that it adds 5 life counters.I'm thing we can use little beads as counters to show life. If a creature with a three hits you, you take three counters. It's all about taking turns (hence no instants, etc.) and because nothing will survive a hit from something else it keeps the strategy and decision making to a minimum. Not sure if we should do a starting 10 or 15 life total or something...Totally open to ideas on the deck or on ideas for how to teach little kids.Cheers!
