Hello dude! This is a very old deck from my begin as an casual magic player (a mix of gift cards from friends and some rares from booster packs) and it was T2 in those days. The current version of this deck is more instant/sorcery centred and have a small number of creatures (1 inferno titan, 1 balefire dragon and 2 or 3 (can't remember) creatures with haste). Staggershocks still there, but now I have some shocks, incinerates, slagstorms and shrine of burning rage :) If I remember, the land count is 22 and Chandra still there (a case of love, my first PW card :P) Thx for comment. Hello, Thx for comment! I created this deck just for fun and for test the chalice of life//chalice of death. Playing against some friends, in the first look they think the deck is themed around gain life to turn Ajani's Pridemate big and only. When they see 1 or 2 chalice of life enter the battlefield and the turning onto chalice of death... The only problem I found is to gain some draw. Sometimes you clean your hand fast enough that you enter in the "top deck" mode... that is boring, but is something to look. ;)
Thanks for the comment You got the key point. The creatures are common but highly expensive to put them in an acceptable level. All the magic of this deck happens when Venerated Teacher enters in the battlefield. The deck is dependent on this card, but have it on hand is not enough, it is interesting to have the largest possible number of creatures in the battlefield who will benefit from his summon. The idea then was to obtain low-cost creatures to put them in the battlefield in the early turns and therefore evolved them at once. The Unsummon is an interesting card both to speed up the process and defend myself. A very pertinent point for the use of it would in turn 4 with some Venerated Teacher available: - I can summon a VT and, on the end of the turn of my opponent, return it - I can return a VT already in play to my hand and then re-summon With this I get two level counters in each creature for the cost of 4 mana. Cards like Raise Dead and Disentomb serve for the same purpose, but in case of a VT is already in the cemetery instead of the battlefield. Other cards allow me to focus primarily on buying cards at a lower cost than they really mess up my opponent. Ty for give a look.
Just to complement the previous reply. I created a deck based on creatures with level up. I would like ideas on how to improve it too. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=169779 Thanks
Ty for the comment. There will be a pauper tournament this weekend in my town and I built this deck based on cards that I own (would love to have four Aura Gnarlid, but I have to settle for three). The initial idea is to start with smaller creatures and strengthen them while trying to weaken my opponent with cards like Triclopean Sight, Weight of Conscience and my only copy of Gelid Shackles and then finally turn on Aura Gnarlid. I completely forgot about the cards like Pacifism and Arrest, I need to take a look at my decks and see if I can find interesting auras among them. Thanks for the tip.
