Would you like to help me edit my wolf token deck?

0

No, I would not because I do not like tokens, but I can suggest ideas to help this deck. lol. Joking aside. I bet you play against a lot of blue and black decks, right?

If you do not play against mostly blue/black decks, might I suggest running Witchstalker in your Sideboard?
You add in Mwonvuli Beast Tracker. This card is a beast in this deck. Trust me. First, it is going to get you an extra creature card on top of your deck, when you play it. That rocks, right? Second, it is going to get you any hex creature that you need, on top of your deck. If you need help against blue/black decks, then search for your Witchstalker. If you need power, search for your Drove of Elves.

Card you are missing, Sylvan Caryatid. It is another brutal card for this deck. First off, you have no hexproof card in your deck that cost only 2 mana. (Silhana Ledgewalker is another 2 mana hex creature). Sylvan is a mana booster. I freaking love mana ramp. Green was made for it. He is going to give you 1 extra forest every turn. That rocks. It is a huge advantage against your opponent. I would take out Snake Umbra for it.

I would take out Blanchwood Armor and add in something more quick and versatile like Giant Growth. It gives you the element of surprise. They attack with a 3/3 creature, knowing you only have 1 1/1 creature to block. They think they have the edge, then you throw down Giant Growth, and all of a sudden your 1/1 creature is now a 4/4 and it kills their 3/3 creature. It makes them stop and think about what you have in your hand and if they should attack or not.

Overrun. This card, my friend, is a game changer. It is considered one of the highest ranking Green cards in Magic, and for a reason. ALL OF YOUR CREATURES get +3/+3 and Trample! It is extremely superior to any card you have in your sideboard, and probably better than Overwhelming Stampede too (maybe not for your deck though). Tough call there.

Finally, to speed the deck up (along with Sylvan Caryatid and Mwonvuli Beast Tracker) I would take out both Sacred Wolf and Thrun, the Last Troll. They are 3 and 4 mana. I would add in Silhana Ledgewalker. She is 2 mana. True, she is a 1/1, and that sucks...but what makes her so nice is that she is going to help build up Drove of Elves. Plus she is a quick fast creature that helps give you more fire power when you cast Overwhelming Stampede.

Not sure if my suggestions make this a stronger deck...but I do feel it would be a much faster deck. It would be dropping lots of low cost creatures along with Rancor and Spider Umbra. Using Caryatid for mana ramp to help push out cheap Rancor/Spider Umbra even faster to build up Drove of Elves. Then would cast a Stampede or Overrun.

Okay. Okay. Done. Good luck with your deck
Please feel free to check out any of my decks and completely trash some of my decks. lol.

Thought I would add links to all the Hexproof Creatures in Magic.

Thanks to the suggestions
I did not add Sylvan Caryatid because the mana curve is low and I want more cards to make my creatures powerful
Withchstalker is a 3/3 with Hexproof for 3 mana, so that is good enough by itself and I need power to trample over their blockers.
Blanchwood Armor gives me so much power, if I take it out, the games would be longer and would give them more chances of clearing the board, trust me, I tried, but I can add a couple of giant growths.
For the same reason of power, I did not want to take out sacred wolf and thrun, but I will check if it makes it better.
Silhana ledgewalker is good but I need my totem armor against boardwiping
Mwonvuli beast tracker is good but as I already said, I need all of the cards in this deck, so I'll try to find a spot for it.
The reason why I want snake umbra is to draw the cards and thus making it faster.
Anyways, thank you for spending time on it, I will see if I can add more of the cards you suggested and will comment on your decks(I won't trash them)

Why not sideboard spider umbra, and put Sylvan Caryatid in instead? That way, you have MORE mana ramp, and you sideboard a largely situational card.

0
Posted 17 April 2014 at 01:55

Spider umbra gives me 2 very useful things
1. Reach ( this deck is not very powerful against flying)
2. Totem Armor( protection against stuff like God's Wrath or Day of Judgment, this devil's biggest weakness)
And the mana curve for this deck is pretty low, so there is not so much need for Caryatid, but I'll add 1 for speed.

You should also consider adding a few saproling cards to help boost trample and provide meat shields for your creatures. Try Aura Mutation and see if you like it! (to do this, you might need those Sylvan Caryatids).

I want to keep it mono green and stick to the big hexproof trample totem armor creatures strategy, but if any can fit and is green, I will consider it.
Thanks for the suggestions!

Don't you guys think I should change the name of the deck?
I've been thinking for a good name (because this one is boring) and didn't come up with anything.
I was reading the hexproof on one card and it says "cannot be the target of...your OPPONENT controls" so I might add Enlarge, or Aspect of Hydra. Don't you think they would be nice, especially Aspect of Hydra?

0
Posted 18 April 2014 at 04:14

Aspect of Hydra has potential. I agree. Hexproof is cool like that, you can still use your instant and enchant creature spells on your creatures, but your opponent can not. Awesome, right?

Thought of making a flash/deathtouch deck? That could be neat.

Dude, you need to choose the best cards and hold onto them. This is really a problem in each category save creatures. You need a minimum of 3 of each card. 2 or less is too unpredictable.

Also, you need more lands and mana ramp. 25 lands at a min.

I know this process sucks. I also hate streamlining decks, but it has to be done.

0

Aspect or giant growth?
What to trade for beast tracker?
I normally play with 24 lands, so I'll make it 24

You have to see this, I just drew a sample hand and it was:
3x forest, drove of elves, rancor, aspect of Hydra, and overwhelming stampede
Next 3 cards were forests: turn 6 you have a 40/40 trample drove of elves!
You are right aspect of Hydra is even more kickstand than I thought!

0

Yep, save up for one final hit and overkill!
Green is just awesome, Garruk rules!
If I add a garruk, which one should I add? ( won't actually do it: budget, but in curious )

0

Cipher is a Dimir ability ... so you'd no longer be mono green. On the bright side, there are only a handful of cards with cipher, so it's easy to decide. However, it seems to me that trample works well with it. I don't think that this has been tried before.

But you could screw with an opponent with Hands of Binding, Hidden Strings, Stolen Identity, Trait Doctoring, or Voidwalk.

If you prefer black, Mental Vapors, Midnight Recovery, Shadow Slice, or Undercity Plague are awesome.

Sorry ... must have had something in my throat....

There are 4 Garruks, all big boys.

http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Search/Default.aspx?action=advanced&name=+[Garruk]&type=+[%22Planeswalker%22]

Garruk, Primal Hunter is you best bet. If you take him on, he will generate tons of meatshields, and he doesn't need loads of creatures like his Wildspeaker and Caller of Beasts variants. This deck has too few creatures for them.

0

Replace overwhelming stampede with Garruk. Bring along 4 Nylea's for trample.

0

I want to keep it budget, and don't need tokens. I want to buff my creatures really good with overwhelming stampede.
I was just curious to see your opinion on garruk, but I will probably include him in real life, because I was lucky enough to get one ( in reality, I don't have that many cards because I don't have money to spend right now and I'm kind of a newbie )

0

I like Garruk, but he is not too flexible of a Planeswalker, compared to Gideon Jura or Jace, The Mind Sculptor. Also, Planeswalkers are so expensive because they the best sort of permanent. Really, they are card advantage on crack. Free spells every turn, with the threat of an ultimate looming.

This deck is really cool. I don't play modern, so a lot of these cards are new to me but this deck looks really strong. I love Rancor because of how Reid Duke played it last year in the modern finals. It's such a good card. Instead of Sylvan Caryatid though, just add Elvish Mystic instead. It adds just green and is a one drop instead of a two drop. Just put a couple in there to help get stuff out earlier though this deck is already stupid fast. +1 from me for sure!

2
Posted 15 May 2014 at 15:11

But it doesn't have hexproof =). That's the main selling point of this deck - your opponent can't target any of your creatures, not even your ramp!

1

Ooooh ok I see, I forgot. Ok yeah so Caryatid might help a little but for a two drop it's a little much for such a fast deck. I'd try two at least and see how they do.

Thanks for the Input but trade what out? Maybe the plated slagwurm? I guess it is more of a late game win deck, but there is always room for speeding it up!
Also would like to find a card that would increase drove of elves' power, because right now, it is too slow, since it doesn't include forests.
Reid Duke 's deck was part of the inspiration for this deck, even though I had the idea long before I saw the deck tech and all that.
In playtest, it starts to kick in during turns 4-5, and I normally can land a good blow at turn 6-7. The ace card of this deck is overwhelming stampede: every time I play it, I win, so I am keeping this one in whatever you say.
