Deck Description

Pauper version of an Orzhov Extort deck. The low mana curve allows for extort on almost every turn.

I know about Dutiful Thrull, but the replacement effect of the Doomed Traveler is better against a fast aggro deck.

How to Play

I know it never works this way, but with a god hand of:

1x Orzhov Guildgate
1x Plains
1x Swamp
1x Doomed Traveler
1x Tithe Drinker
1x Syndic of Tithes
1x Kingpin's Pet

T1: Orzhov Guildgate (tapped of course)
T2: Plains, Tithe Drinker
T3: Swamp, Syndic of Tithes (extort - gain 1) and attack with Tithe Drinker (gain 2)
T4: Plains, Doomed Traveler (extort - gain 2) and attack with Tithe Drinker (gain 2)
T5: Swamp, Kingpin's Pet (extort - gain 2) and attack with Doomed Traveler & Tithe Drinker (gain 2)

Assuming everything goes well, by T6 they are at 8 life due to extort and damage, and you are at 26 life. A difference of 18 life should give you an excellent buffer for any exchange of creatures and extort should finish them off soon. Even if they kill the Tithe Drinker and do damage equal to your damage every turn, you are still at 13 while they are at 8.

I have played this several times and even against a fast RDW it holds strong and finishes well. It doesn't hurt to wait them out by not attacking because you will be doing a lot with extort.
