Deck discussion for Infect deck

Since you seem to want to ramp the infect, you need a source that gives trample like Primal Rage, also since your going power ramp add Wild Defiance to combo beautifully with that.

rancor is a nice traple-granter, good against removal, good in early, good in late, good if you have multiple, good if you have one, no problem if you dont find any

I've only got one rancor but I'll add it.

I think Core prowler would help. It offers a nice body, and if it dies, you get to proliferate.

invigorate... a free +4/+4 in this situation.

there are also a few nice blue temporary pump cards like unstable mutation. which could help you land a killing blow.

but more important is probably a way to give trample and or regeneration so that you can wittle down their creatures without yours dying... i think there is even a green regeneration enchantment that also gives +1/+1 but i cant remember its name

my friend has an infect deck and what he did was put cards in like tricks of the trade and other cards that makes creatures unblockable and it is quite effective

May i suggest inexorable tide instead of thrummingbird? I kmow the mana cost is a lot higher, but you can proliferate a lot faster. Also steady progress you proliferate and draw a card

I don't play blue infect. If you say about my blightsteel deck, that is there because of s particular counter card
Revenge of the Hunted may be a good option

I like the deck. Playing infect, there is one thing you have to know. People will do anything to block and or kill your creatures. That means your creatures need trample and protection from spells. You already got stuff in sideboard that can help with that. As for the pretection from spells, Whispersilk Cloak. Mutagenic Growth is a card should think about replacing with giant growth.

And this deck can find its self creatureless due to creature removal. So it would be great if a buff card could act as a blocker to slow the opponent down just even to let you get to your creatures. That's where Slaughterhorn comes in.

My next point, getting to your creatures and making sure you always have a creature to play. Get rid of Tricks of the Trade and in it's place put 3 Gitaxian Probe. This card will allow you to get to creatures and that powerful green enchantment.

And the last thing I want to talk about. Some times things just don't work out so in those cases you need a back plan. Giant Adephage will make good on a back up plan. So having one or two of these back up plans in your spell book will throw your opponent for a loop. However, if you find your self needing to play the back up plan, try to cast it when their mana is tapped.

Whispersilk cloak gives shroud, do NOT use it.

Blighted agent is unblockable and some of his creatures have evasion. Trample is not needed.

Don't use slaughterhorn, why would you even suggest that?

Never drop mutagenic growth from an infect deck. It's 0 mana for +2. That's ridiculous.

And no, you don't need a backup plan. A backup plan dilutes the deck and makes it's primary win con less likely. and of all things, you pick Adephage?

I don't mean to be rude, but your comments are trying to make the deck worse rather than better.

Overall, this deck still needs a lot of work :/
It looks like you're trying to stay on a budget, but if you really want to have a good UG Infect deck it needs to look like this:
http://www.mtgvault.com/raginggoblin/decks/modern-ug-infect/

That artifact is still very useful. With Mutagenic Growth you can pay two life then equip Whispersilk Cloak. In this type of deck you would only want one and two at most in the deck. It goes with those times you have only one creature out but you only need four more 4 more infect. The other guy has a 3 or 4 creatures on the grounds. And you only have five mana out and with a Mutagenic Growth in hand. Then you draw whispersilk. this scenario Mutagenic Growth and Whispersilk Cloak will make the win possible. This type of thing will happen when playing this deck as it only has 22 lands. As for putting in a Giant Adephage in a lot of cases many black and blue decks will take out your many of your early creatures so this deck will need something that can defend and at the same time end the game one or two turns.

You clear have not as much experience with these types of decks. I'm giving good advice to a player asking how he or she can better the deck.

If I were playing this deck I would add 4 more land--2 more at the every least. And I'm not trying to change his deck. I think for this deck I have given the best advice I could. I'm not going to tell him to put in cards that change the feel of the deck.

Vines, please consider what you say before you make yourself sound more foolish.

0

I think vines is doing just fine. not trying to be rude, but you are the one who says this deck should be like yours, not vines. Vines was just giving suggestions. Saying that this deck should look like yours is not very helpful. Saying check out my deck for ideas if you want is different because it just gives a different perspective. Nobody wants to go look at a self-glorifier's decks. Just saying

0
Posted 12 July 2013 at 18:10

I'm not self glorifying. That list isn't mine. UG Infect is a defined deck and my link is an example of a deck that can win in tournaments.

The reason I'm saying it needs to look like that deck is because for infect to be consistent and good, most of the deck is a pretty static shell.

As for the defense of Vines, it is good for people to offer input and constructive criticism; however, there are certain cards that shouldn't be used because they just don't work for the deck. Offering the ideas of using a large late game creature for a deck that's supposed to be fast, or saying to use equipment that gives shroud in a deck that relies on pumping your creatures, those comments aren't helpful and they just troll the deck maker.

? correct me if I'm wrong (I'm not) but I never said anything about mutagenic growth. That card is the reason good infect decks can win turn 2.

At this point we need to understand that Vines is toxic and is trying to troll. just ignore him, he's bad anyway.
