Hi this is a deck that ive been plying with for a while. I usually only play with freinds so its fairly casual as far as card lists go. I REALLY want to start participating in my local FNM though,l which is mainly modern, and some of the cards i use are not modern. any suggestions are welcome. i would like the speed of the deck to remain as cloase to a 4 turn win as possible.

Either you could use Immaculate Magistrate or classic Overrun to replace these cards but I would strongly suggest for making this deck fit more into the meta of modern format. Joraga Warcaller and Oran-Rief, the Vastwood are a good combo and with Gavony Township you could also pump them additionaly late game when splashing white. You should also go for some technics of working against BUW Counter Control decks that are a mess playing against with elves, maybe AEther Vial or Cavern of Souls could help here. I like to play Joraga Treespeaker also because I think this is an underrated card worth leveling in turn 2 and instantly using the 2 mana you get from it so it is a full payback. Play Elvish Champion with Lush Growth on board makes your elves unblockable as same as Merfolk does. Dwynen, Gilt-Leaf Daen is also a good choice and you should think of playing Nissa Revane at least for the life boost you could need when playing against Burn, Aggro and Dredge decks. A great boost is also using Collected Company or the more cheap version Lead the Stampede otherwise it could happen that you go of of elves realy fast.Playing this one as fun deck is except for Control decks also a good meta deck as experiences have shown; http://www.mtgvault.com/risendeep/decks/elves-2/ maybe it helps

Ill looko into going for a G/W build. I was at one point running Joraga Treespeaker but i find that the llanowar elves give me the faster mana return im looking for. The beauty of the way the deck runs is that im typically doing 10 damagae a turn by turn 3-4, and i think that Nissa would slow that down, however that is a pretty sweet life gain effect. Ill try her out as i already have a copy. any suggestions for me on what whites to go with? do you think that maybewestvale abbey would be good if i switched it around to a more token based approach, because then i could add soul sisters and get my life gain that way, however i would lose my tribal bonuses from ezuri and archdruid.
You could trust me that a pure weenie approach wouldnt do 10 damage in turn 3-4 in a modern torunament in FNM style. There is too much burn and every deck runs creature hate like Dismember/Path to Exile/Lightning Bolt/Anger of the Gods/Skred. Thats why Merfolk and Eldrazi are the most common played tribals in modern, they could counter/protect against creature hate what elves will never could do in this dimensions like a single Coursecatcher.Thats why you should play stuff like Lead the Stampede/Collected Company to refresh your ranks against aggressive hate and prepare for late game.On the white splash you should absolutely run Path to Exile at least 3 copies as board removal. I personaly like Sunblade Elf as it becomes 2/2 instantly when you control a plains but Gavony Township is also a must have for its second ability in my opinion. You could try Westvale Abbey but I dont think that it makes any ground against a range of full powered elves.
have you thought about putting well wishers in this deck so you can gain life from you elves
Well Wisher is not modern legal
Personally I have run elves with the subtype warrior, but there might still be some good cards that fit into this deck:Imperious Perfect; {2}{G}; 2/2; Other Elf creatures you control get +1/+1. {G}, {T}: Put a 1/1 green Elf Warrior creature token into play.Nettle Sentinel; {G}; 2/2; Nettle Sentinel doesn't untap during your untap step. Whenever you play a green spell, you may untap Nettle Sentinel.Talara's Battalion; {1}{G}; 4/3; Play Talara's Battalion only if you played another green spell this turn; TrampleWren's Run Vanquisher; {1}{G}; 3/3; As an additional cost to play Wren's Run Vanquisher, reveal an Elf card from your hand or pay {3}. DeathtouchAside from that:Collected Company; {3}{G}; Look at the top six cards of your library. Put up to two creature cards with converted mana cost 3 or less from among them onto the battlefieldBeastmaster Ascension; {2}{G}; WHenever a creature attacks it gets a counter. When five counters have been placed all your creatures get +5/+5As for the splash, I would keep this monoG as it is now because white has nearly nothing that green can't do...if you're in for fast decks. White is the slower and more controlish colour here in my opinion. GreetingsMuktol
I agree but i think a certain amount of control in this deck is going to lead to a more flexible build. I do think that it should be limited to things like Path to Exile or Declaration in stone, basically just spot creature control, however, white will give me advantages like Always Watching which is nice boost for this style of build.
So i did splash some white into the build. I want to know what you and @RisenDeep think
Why not splash black instead of white? Gives you access to a lot of control spells AND allows you the use of "Shaman of the Pack". Elvish Promenade, Dwynen's Elite, Eyeblight Massacre, Foul-Tongue Shriek would be interesting cards for this.
Black is a rather undependable color to me. I really only have one deck that uses black and thats in my esper superfriends deck, and its only used for some spot creature control as well as Sorin.
