Deck Description

gelectrode, cinder pyromancer and asencension speed up the burning. dimish + anything can help stop something big from hurting a lot, unless they have shroud or hexproof then nothing you can do. sideboard is a less blue approach. take out dimish for goblin and blue sorceries for red instant this route procs cinder's ability more often which can make a even faster burn

deck is relatively cheap most of these cards are extremely common

Deck discussion for my wife's casual deck

Searing Spear over Volcanic Hammer. Spear is the same effect, but instant speed.

This is actually a pretty good deck, but I agree with Processpony, Searing Spear is better then Volcanic Hammer.

ponder or preordain? im thinking preordain cause of the scry

That's really a play style choice I think. Ponder gets you an extra card, but preordain can help with raw consistency. Halimar Depths is a land that basically functions as a toned down ponder.
