Let's admit it, we all know one, or possibly we ARE one. Innistrad pleasantly surprised us with entire townshipfuls of them (townshipfuls... right.). While Dark Ascension sees them as failing against the rising tide of every Hollywood nightmare imagined, I'm kind of a Chalice-Of-Death-Half-Full person. All this dying off can still be a pretty decent advantage. You may find yourself asking: 1. Why no High Priest? Answer: Because the Cannibals keep eating the possible summoners. Stupid Cannibals. 2. Where's the flying defense? Answer: Don't be ridiculous, humans don't fly unless I Fling them, and this is the wrong deck. 3. How do you feel about the low standard of living created by having mobs of people roaming the streets and cannibals lurking about? Answer: Considering I'm far more concerned with a standard of dying, I feel fairly peachy, really. 4. Why the Chalices? They have to transform first, you know. Answer: First off, the second part of that question isn't even a question. The chalices are there for an obvious reason, and if you haven't grasped it yet, I have some villagefront property I wish to sell you.

Thanks much, kiwi, glad you liked the description!
Love the description and like the deck too. I would however cut the Sharpened Pitchfork, although it fits the theme perfectly, and add 3 Silver Inlaid Daggers. And I would substitute Harrowing Journey for Increasing Devotion.
'Preciate it man, been a good while since I posted. I would sideboard the Daggers at most, because they lack one key element: First Strike. However, in more damage intensive situations, they'd be perfect to switch out. Increasing Devotion was definitely considered, but It's sooooo expensive. Harrowing Journey is in there for some card advantage, has a less oppressive casting cost, and also gives me that much-needed loss of life to trigger the oh-so-Fateful-Hour.
I think Champ of Parish could work in this deck and I think Thranben Doomsayer is too slow. Please see my "Village Idiot" deck here and comment! http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=240214
