Skaabs really intrigue me, but I've had a hard time trying to get them to fit. During a draft, I passed them over because of their uncommonality, but I picked up a Skaab Ruinator and set myself to the task. Combining it with green, I realized, would not work at all. This is because green in this block is central on MAINTAINING creatures in the graveyard for strengthening, so using Skaabs to remove them is inefficient. Black works better due to the sacrifice mechanics set into the block, but doesn't do well enough due to one fact: black uses the graveyard as a secondary library, and while self-milling is welcome, flat-out removing is looked down upon. With these things in mind, this meant that, naturally, White doesn't really help much either without trying to take over the deck's format overall. Skaabs + Humans/Spirits = not a great working pair. This left only Red, which at first I dismissed due to the large amounts of Werewolves in there. Until I started looking at all the spells and other creatures...
