Phyrexian's are pretty much what got me into this game, and this, this is essentialy a better version of what it was lol. I personally like the draw type Phyrexian's best, but this is awesome enough for me to actually want to straight out rip this deck. Only thing I would change is the Altar of Shadows, I like it, just not the cost... I'd much rather throw in a fourth Grave Pact, but to each his own. 8/10 for such awesomeness that can redeem the Gargantua.

Phyrexia eternal! Oh yes, Phyrexia was a major reason for my playing as well, and was what swayed me to black, honestly. And the reasoning for the Altar was simply that you wouldn't see it until about midgame, so by then you should have the mana built up to be able to deal with it, and by then your cumulative on the Phyrexian Etchings will begin to look kind of hairy.
I first saw Phyrexian Etchings used in conjunction with Drake Familiar. It was an impressive pairing, and funny because Drake Familiar was the only creature in the deck. I like your design here, I've only been playing for about 2 years now and have been curious about the real might of the Phyrexian faction. Glad to know it's not all about Infect creatures and lame poison mechanics.
