I've been trying to piece together a Spitemare deck for some time now, but due to issues with finding cards that work with it, I've been unable to create it (Spitemare because I like the idea of making my creature into a pariah that makes you eat the damage you try to feed me. Cruel, sweet irony, Stompys.) until Innistrad reared its head. Inquisitor's Flail appeared, and gave me a whole new playtoy for my pain-inducing friend. Basically, the combo works as thus: Spitemare, armed with an Inquisitor's Flail and (hopefully) armored in Darksteel Plate, makes its way onto the field (Imagine a full-fig destrier, if you will, with a really nasty spade bit in its mouth, and a well-worn, crimson flail with barbed heads clenched in its strained teeth. There, you have it.) and sits there, laughing like Mr. Ed from the deepest depths of Horsey S&M Hell. It's already a pain in the ass trying to attack something that's so ornery that it not only blocks your creature, but reverses your creature's damage back onto its controller. (Ouch, that's a nasty rug burn you have there.) If this isn't bad enough, to make matters worse, the Spitemare rears up and decides to attack. Oh, yes, that is, AFTER Lure is given to it. Yes, a horse with Lure. Life really sucks for you.
