Deck Description

I had a buddy refer me to a list of control decks that have been placing and I checked them out. Someone referred to these decks on my older Azorius listing also. I'm building one to test it out just to see how it runs compared to my other U/W decks.

How to Play

I used to run Quicken in a few of my older deck lists but there were times when I saw it I wished it was a form of removal. I'm guessing with all the board wipe in this deck that's just what it does. Keep blowing things up to hold off your opponent until you can get out your win conditions. I have Jace, the Living Guildpact in here just cause I like him and don't see one of him hurting the deck that much. Especially if Architect of Thought isn't needed to filter.

He's in the sideboard. I'll probably look for a way to fit him in the main eventually.

I worry that the high casting costs of the board clears are going to limit the effectiveness of the deck. I deffinitly like what you are doing here. Maybe "Elite Archanist + Silence" would lock things up tight while you are biding your time. The archanists would also lend to the utility of the Quicken. And if you are feeling really froggy some "Dictate of Kruphix" to really frustrate the mess out of them. All the Spells in the world and can't cast a one of them. :)

I would never run Silence....ever. I do understand where you're coming from with the board wipes but some how a lot of these decks are winning PTQ's. This is just my version of that build.

I got third at FNM using this deck.

Game 1: Monogreen Devotion- Won 2/1

Game 2: American Artifacts- Lost 2/0
Input: This deck was...crazy. His won conditions were Ornithopter, the artifact land, and some other cheap creatures that he'd just put Ensoul Artifact on. Crazy good artifact deck and he made top 8 with it.

Game 3: Boros Aggro- Won 2/1

Game 4: Esper Control- Won 2/0

Top 8:
Game 1: Jund Midrange- Won 2/0

Game 2: Bant Control- Lost 2/1
Input: In game 1 I just didn't see anything I really needed and he pretty much had control of the board by turn 4. Game 2 I milled him out slowly...it was painful, lol. Game 2 I had to mulligan down to 5 and kept a 1 mana hand because I didn't want to go down to 4. Didn't draw into any land.
