I noticed months back that all top tier control decks are screwed over by one card and one card only: Slaughter Games. I'm a BIG control player and you have to know your weaknesses. Because one card can kill multiple decks I refused to run it. Don't really think it's fair to be completely honest. Sadly not everyone shares that mentality and a friend of mine has a very well put together Esper Control deck that was done it by a deck similar to this. I'm not stationed where he's at anymore so I haven't seen the deck but I'm assuming this was the build.
Play it like you would any regular monoblack devotion deck except you have access to the brokenness that is Slaughter Games. Throwing it in the main board might seem like a waste but you can pretty much guess what top tier decks are running now. Jund- Xenagos (God or Enchantment) or Domri. you'll probably hit somethingBoros Burn- Chandra's Phoenix, SkullcrackNaya- Ajani, Xenagos, Dmori, Witchstalker, Mistcutter HydraAny type of control- Elsepth, AEtherling, Blood Baron, Sphinx's RevelationMonoblack Devotion- Gray MerchantMonoblue Devotion- ThassaMonowhite Devotion- Archangel of Thune/HeliodIt'll likely affect control decks the most and maybe even midrange but it'll still hurt a deck. Although as I said, the affect might be greater to some. The sideboard has a more greater affect on control decks than usual monoblack devotion does. Take out kill spells for Duress, at least one more Slaughter Games, Rakdos's Return, and Erebos.
