I have mixed feelings about this deck and to be honest I'm lacking confidence in it. Another thing I'm not big on is the color green. Favorite color in real life but in magic I just don't get how to play it. I've seen bant control decks in the past and they usually have worked really well because green can provide some very decent support. I have a deck similar to this one that is a superfriends deck and this one probably isn't much different but hopefully it'll be liked a bit better.
Control loves it's mana ramp and Sylvan Caryatid provides that, as well as a very decent 0/3 wall that can't be burned. The mana ramp it provides can give you a turn 3 Jace or Kiora, who is really in this deck because I love her -1 ability. Other than that it's your basic control deck. Hold your opponent off until you can overwhelm them with Elspeth or pop Kiora for some 9/9 Krakens. Advent of the Wurm could also technically be a win condition if your opponent has nothing to stop a 5/5 wurm. Either way your opponent will have to waste a card to get rid of it. One card I wasn't sure about in this deck was Plasm Capture but after looking at it more and more I loved the options it could bring to the table. When facing control you could counter their Sphinx's Revelation, facing red you could nab five mana from Stormbreath Dragon. Nice little toolbox to have in the deck.

Any reason for mutavault other than a 2/2 beater?

Just a man land and man lands are awesome. Sadly I only have one and since I only have 1 I should probably replace him with another land but oh well.
