Deck Description

Tinkering with my friend's decklist, I decided I wanted to make my own variation of his creation.

Here's my very first control deck, which is an adaptation of my friend puppyloafer's USA deck. :D

Suggestions wanted!

How to Play

This is my take on my friend puppyloafer's Modern UWR Deck (Check them out, his decks are really good: http://www.mtgvault.com/puppyloafer/decks/happy-new-year-50-2/). Being Planeshifted, it became UBR and it functions a bit differently from my friend's deck. (This was meant to be a surprise to him the next time we play a casual game. Though, this deck isn't a counter to his deck as that will make things not fun.) :D

Like his deck, this is purely budget and doesn't contain the pricey control cards.

Win Conditions:
1) Torchling Beatdown!
2) Stall, Draw and Burn!
3) Delver Poke!

Card Comments:

Torchling over Aetherling: (Instead of a Superhero, I use a Supervillain) I know, Aetherling is superior to Torchling but keeping with the flavor of my deck (a planeshifted version of my friend's deck) I decided to use it instead of other finishers. It's fairly decent though with its pseudo-vigilance, provoke, shunting targeting spells and its combat tricks. It's the Aetherling that doesn't evade a fight but starts it! Flavorful and effective.

Rakdos's Return: This card can win you games or otherwise impair your opponent by making him discard important cards.

Blightning: A smaller Rakdos's Return that does its job effectively and disrupts your opponent's tempo.

Ral Zarek vs Ajani Vengeant: They look so similar, the only difference is that Ajani's -2 heals and Ral's +1 also untaps instead of just tapping like Ajani. Their Ultis are irrelevant unless it's a really really slow game.
