Deck discussion for Counter Burn Yawl

tough to call it counterburn with 2 counter magic spells....sideboard Electrickery, mainboard Negate or even Dissipate or Render Silent

unfortunately other counter spells are lacking in usefulness in standard right now. and electrickery is because of lingering souls and mana dorks. and hitting multiple creatures is just much more powerful

really? you would rather Essence Scatter an Angel of Serenity or a Thragtusk than Dissipate it? Dissipate, Render Silent, and Syncopate are all better than Essence Scatter.
as for Electrickery, its terrible. seriously. Homing Lightning is MUCH better, at 4 mana, its more expensive, obviously, but you can use it to take out WAY more things.

also, Im confused about Fettergeist. why do you have a creature that forces you to pay for other creatures? As many instants and sorceries as you have, you could think about guttersnipe. His damage bonus could be the thing you need to get past those scary, scary souls..

rofl. not sure why the animosity. all of these cards (besides over expensive homing lightning) have been tried and have had little to some success. however the cards I have chosen have been pretty successful. and with 21 lands having as low and cheap of a curve is very helpful. and geist explains himself he's a 3/4 flier that dodges most all searing spears thrown his way. and with only 12 total creatures paying one mana a turn is a small price to pay for resilience. guttersnipe has shown no success for me (especially since he dies to just about every removal spell) the ral's are more of my next test for the deck, over runechanter's pike. but if he shows to be lacking in the deck then I will probably switch back

theres no animosity, I dont care what you run in your deck. I just think those are two poor choices and the geist is cheap for CMC but too expensive as you build board presence.
